After you've read the book on your Kindle, do you KEEP it there, or DELETE it?
Or, maybe, keep the best ones and delete the ones that were just so-so.
I'm new, but understand that you can delete it and re-download it FREE from Amazon if you want it back on your Kindle.

I think of Amazon Archives as my "Big Bookshelf".......all of my already read books are Archived once finished- the unread ones and currently reading ones stay on my Kindle until read.

I also delete read books. If I want them again, I just download them from Amazon or Calibre. It's nice to only have one or two pages of books on my kindle. Easier to see which books I can read next.

WOW - Thanks for the quick replies.
HELP ME PLEASE .....
If I DELETE a book, can I get it back through Amazon - or do I have to ARCHIVE vs. DELETE?
Thanks for your help.
I put 6 books on my Kindle my first day (4 were freee).
I NEED to READ the User's Guide to get more info and understanding, but thanks to y'all in here for providing quick answers.

You can get a book back on your Kindle after you delete by re-sending it from your Amazon Kindle page.

When you "delete" a book purchased by Amazon you ARE "archiving" it. If you Delete a book NOT purchased through Amazon then yes it gets deleted permanently.

Black Matte from DecalGirl
Thought about the Library one, though.
I just wanted something besides WHITE and actually preferred a rather plain look. Seems like some of the wild patterns would be distracting when trying to read.

Black should be nice, and I've heard people say that the darker skins make the font look better.

Thanks for posting this... I too have wondered if it were safe to delete. That's good to know since it's hard to manage the list on your Kindle when it get's so long! Thanks again!

I delete after I've read a book. I figure I can always redownload from Amazon or simply connect my Kindle to my computer to add stuff again from Calibre. It makes it a bit easier when perusing pages of books that need to be read yet.

All the books I purchased from Amazon are deleted and put in the archive once I finish reading them.
Books from other sources are backed up on my pc and I delete them from the Kindle when completed.

I have five people on my account. Amazon's policy is that a book can only be on six devices at one time. Now, I know I'm not at risk only having five, but I figured it was easier to get into the habit of deleting/archiving a book and reopening that license for someone else. I have a coupe of other family members who are considering Ks, and this way we never have to worry about a book not being available. deb

Z-man, After I've read a book I delete it. I can always get it back from Calibre, since I download all of my book, from whatever source, to Calibre. It's a great tool for keeping track of your eBooks and I don't have to worry if Amazon "pulls" the book for some reason (which they have done in the past, with no notice to users). You may want to check it out. http://calibre-ebook.com/download

Another one who deletes Obviously I can get my Amazon books back whenever I want. For books got from other places, I keep all of them on computer and I also have the files backed up on external harddrives. This way I can always put a book back on my Kindle if I want

I guess I'm in the minority...I don't delete except for samples. I have a K1 and the way I feel about it is my Kindle is my library and I don't want to have to go to an outside source to get a specific book so I keep them all on my K1 that way I am self-contained all the time. However, I do backup onto my computer and a thumb drive both. (Call me paranoid!)
