Product Description
This literary thriller revolves around Parker Sloane. When he returns from a dismal foray into third-world cash-smuggling to his childhood home in the woods of New England, it seems he’s seeing his country and his blended stepfamily for the first time—and finding both just as twitchy, desperate, paranoid and unpredictable as the underworld types he thought he’d escaped.

Before he can even unpack, Parker goes head-to-head with his relatives—his tyrannical stepfather, seething younger brother, newly evangelical mother, and his alluring younger half-sister Rita—and with the demons they never exorcised.

Delicately but disastrously, Parker attempts to keep his family from imploding, unaware that they have their own plans for escape. The Moon in Deep Winter combines the dark comedy of the Coen brothers with the doomed lyricism of Denis Johnson, creating an airtight world of homicidal family dysfunction.

One thing I'm wondering about - the rail system holds the Kindle in place on three sides, with the left side, the one in the middle of the case, unsecured.  If you fold back the case while reading, like I know I would do, is there any danger of the Kindle sliding out thru that unsecured side while reading if you were to turn the Kindle so that the 'open' side was down (gravity is, I guess, what I'm wondering about).  I'm looking for a case for one of the new DXG models, but I think the Noreve for the K2 is made the same.

If the Kindle is held securely by the rail system and I wouldn't need to worry about it accidentally slipping out while holding it with the cover folded back, I think I'm going to give in to temptation and order one.  So far, I've an Oberon that I love to look at, but don't so much like to hold to read since I hate the feel of the wool, and an M-Edge Platform that just doesn't feel quite right, although I know it protects the DXG very well.  I don't think there's another cover out there that I'd be as happy with as I'd be with a Noreve, but I'm just looking for some reassurance that I'd not need to worry about it slipping out that unsecured side . . .

Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I don't want to make another mistake, and I'm really ready to find a cover that I'd be unquestionably happy to have.

I fold my noreve cover back and there is no way it would fall out.  I actually ripped my thumb nail a couple of weeks ago when trying to get the kindle out of its noreve! It is very very secure.  And gorgeous to boot!

Recently, after a post on whether the rails loosen over time, I decided to give mine a try.  Holding it by the tab, I shook it.  Lo and behold, the Kindle slipped down about an inch.  Thank goodness I had the foresight to do this over the bed and as well as the fact that it didn't fall completely out.  So I took the Kindle out, pushed in on the rails, both top and bottom and put the Kindle back in.  Had to do that a couple of times because I didn't want to push in too much.  Now the Noreve is good as new.  It think it does loosen over time and with use although I rarely remove my Kindle from the case.

Anyone with a Noreve might want to do this quick check-up from time to time.  You know... better safe than sorry.  Smiley

Since the end of March, looks like.    But as someone said, the rails are just pieces of metal covered with leather.  Easily bent to snug things up again.
