It's only hearsay, but I've heard that Noreve is adamant about not removing the travel wallet. <sigh> Glad to hear your Kindle survived a near-miss. When I first got my Kindle, I used it for about a month while I waited for my cover to arrive. (I live in Mexico and depend on "burros" to bring stuff from the US. We wait ages for packages to arrive.) I had a LightWedge zippered case for storage/travel, but had to read my Kindle in the raw. I thought I would prefer to use it out of a case, always....it's so light and thin. But now I realize I was really lucky not to have dropped it or dropped something onto it while the poor thing was nekkid. Now "Barbie" is always well-dressed now in an Oberon cover and DecalGirl skin and is never seen encuerada. Judith

Victoria,
Have you tried to bribe them to leave out the travel wallet? Just wondering if this is something they would consider on special order. Prolly not, huh?
pffffttttttt
Yep. No go. And I did try. The funny part was they told me they get that request all the time. I'm thinking, "hello? big clue here!" LOL I mostly ignore the travel wallet--stuck a card in it with contact info, and I do carry a silky microfiber cloth tucked in there for cleaning the screen of both the Kindle and my iPhone. But I'd just as soon put that elsewhere and not have the wallet!

Awhile back when I was researching covers I sent a message thru their site telling them I liked the case but hated the wallet. They sent me a form e-mail back saying I could order the case thru their site with a link to it. I don't think my note was even read.

LOL..... The joys of doing business with the big boys, eh? LOL One would think they would finally get the idea, wouldn't you? For the time being, at least, I'm sticking with what I have in covers. I actually found the very best handbag, a Dooney & Bourke, which is open on top, 2 compartments, zippered section down the middle. Junk lives in one compartment, wallet and Kindle in the other. If it's raining, I make sure the case is put in spine side up. I discovered this bag being carried by a lady shopping in Walgreens and just HAD to quiz her as the style was EXACTLY what I had been looking for. Normally I prefer a bit smaller bag but I was tired of lugging a tote bag to work just to carry my Kindle. Signed, Vicki the Happy Camper

I, too, decided to write to Noreve about omitting the travel wallet. Here's our correspondence:
I wrote-
Is it possible to get the Amazon Kindle 2 - International Tradition leather case WITHOUT the travel wallet?
I would much prefer that the inside left-hand cover be lined with the same Noreve-logo leather that is found inside of the right-hand side of the cover. This would make the Noreve more comfortable to hold while reading my Kindle with the cover folded back. I'm sure I'll never stuff travel documents inside my Kindle cover. Thank you for your consideration.
Noreve responded:
Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for your message. Unfortunately we can't modify the design of our case. Sorry. I wish you a very good day, My best regards, Cynthia Customer Care Department / Service Client
Innovacases - Noreve St.Tropez Haute Couture for Mobile Devices
Sorry---eat worms and die. <sigh>

Too bad Noreve. I think the Kindle 2 cover is a done deal, but maybe we can try a group effort for the Kindle 3 cover.

Don't know about Fuzzy, but I barely notice it when reading. For me, the issue with the wallet is more about the extra bulk it adds to the thickness of the case, and the extra ounce or so of unneeded weight.

Extra bulk is good sometimes though.

I think I would prefer a plain, soft surface to hold when the cover is folded back for reading, instead of a lot of pockets and slots. But, ni modo, I ordered a Noreve cover yesterday. Judith in Mexico

Sorry, haven't been around in quite a while. My case is Ebony from the Ambition selection. Still love it! I found very quickly that you don't even notice the travel wallet portion.

I will find out soon if it is an issue for me. I ordered a black in the Perpetual leather this morning. It was a LOT cheaper than I thought it would be and a huge thanks to mrskb for the coupon code. Ended up costing $80 complete with 2-4 day UPS shipping to Houston.
Wait!!! Didn't I say I wasn't buying any more covers?
I need to compile the "for sale" list. sighhhhh

I thought it would be an issue for me but it isn't. AND I hold my case in my left hand and it still isn't an issue. My co-worker holds hers with the case back-snapped and holding between the front and back with her right hand and that doesn't get anywhere near the wallet part. So other than the fact that we'd rather the wallet part wasn't there, I have to admit that it really isn't an issue. Who knew, eh? P.S. Two of the covers from the "list" have been sold. I'm hanging on to the rest for a bit. The Oberon is too beautiful to consider parting with but I will probably never use it again. I just can't imagine hefting all that weight again.

The travel wallet hasn't been an issue for me at all. In fact, I think the extra padding might protect my screen a bit more than it would without it. The case is very light-weight. I honestly don't think the wallet part adds that much weight. Definitely not a problem for me at all.

I don't use the travel wallet on my Noreve and would be just as happy without it. But I don't notice it when reading. I hold it two different ways, depending on my mood. Sometimes I hold it open like a book and sometimes I fold it back and snap it so it will stay. The travel wallet is completely forgotten when I start reading. I don't think it adds much weight, it's just superfluous - for me.
