Since Saturday, I noticed that my Kindle doesn't awaken to the last book I was reading. At first I thought it was a fluke. It opens to the Home page. This is getting very annoying.

Anybody know what's up with this?

It could be the book you're reading. Books that are in the Topaz format cause weird things to happen. Roes it only happen with one book? Or several?

The last two books have not opened to last page read. I just tested... left the K open to the page I was reading and it put itself to sleep. It opened to the right page. When I manually put it to sleep, it opens to home page.

Have you turned Whispernet on recently?  That seems to cure some of these kinds of things as the Kindle needs to contact the mothership occasionally to work right.

Are you sure you're putting it to sleep and not turning it off?

I haven't looked to see if whispernet is on or off. I usually keep it off. Lately, I've just been letting it put itself to sleep. I don't toggle it to sleep. So far, all is well. It opens exactly to where I stopped reading.

Hard to read in public - everybody wants to talk about it! Kindlers go gaga over the look of my Kindle... in a Celtic Hounds Oberon case (wine) and with a dark burlwood skin. Mostly I get Wows. Non kindlers want to touch it, see it, feel it.

No matter -- I do not manually put it to sleep any more. I'll go turn on whispernet and let it talk to mama. See if that helps.
