Others have expressed this wish.  I like to take my K out and look at the back at my beautiful skin.

I feel the same way. I wonder if DG would be receptive to that idea. I might be worth a try, plus it would save us money.  Smiley

With every business, there needs to be a sale price at which the company will make a profit.  I think that if they were only to make the front, people would be expecting to pay half of what they pay now, and that would mean that the decalgirl kindle product would not be worth making.  Which explains why those companies who do only make the front, charge almost as much for that, as for the product that decalgirl produces.

I usually love the back more than the front to be honest.

I get the desire by many folks for a "front only" option from DecalGirl. But I'm in the other camp. I like the skin on the front and back of my Kindle. I take it out of the cover sometimes. It just feels more "complete" to me to have it fully skinned. I can't remember the company, but doesn't one of the decal/skin companies offer a "front only" choice?

I hadn't thought of the minimum cost for profit issue. Good point.

I also love the back more than the front but since mine never leaves the nest (cover) I rarely see it.  Sad

I don't think so.... I think GelaSkins used to sell only the backs, but they do the fronts now as well.

You could always trim the back to cover something else, like a cell phone.....

I've thought the same thing for quite a while.  Usually I read with my K2 in its Oberon cover.

I sent an email to them a few weeks ago and this is the reply I received,
Thank you for contacting us. I am sorry we only do them as kits.  When we first started we offered options but we fazed that out due to the fact that no one ever ordered the front only.

I have an idea on what to do with the back part of the decal, What about placing it on a tile and use some felt on the bottom and you have a coaster. Just find a tile big enough.

I'm the one who put my back skin on the the front of my M-Edge cover.  Here are the pictures again.  It's been a couple of months now and the skin is still totally secure.  I had to trim it just a little to get it to fit.

What is interesting is that DG does offer an option like this for other types of skins.  I got an X-Box 360 skin from them for my son for Christmas (Absolute Power -- he loves it!), and there was an option to either get the complete kit (2 sides and the faceplate) or if you keep the X-Box horizontal, which we do, just get the kit with one side and the faceplate for a bit less.  I wondered at the time why I couldn't do that for my K2!  I did order the smaller kit plus one controller skin (that was an option too, you could order any number of controller skins with it or separately), and I don't think it was half price, but it was lower price than the complete kit.

drenfrow, do you know if applying the decal affects the leather at all?

I haven't wanted to peel up an edge to check for fear that it won't stick back down.  Given what other people have said about how easy it is to take a skin off the Kindle itself, I'm hoping it will come up when I want to take it off.  I would suggest taking a small piece of the skin and trying it in an inconspicuous place.  I did that when I was trying to see if it would stick and it did peel off fine with no residue but I only left it on a minute so still don't know about long term.
