Hello Harvey,

First, let me say how much I enjoy this Kindleboard site. All of you people continue to make this place one of the best forums on the Internet. I'm sure all us members appreciate all the hard work you do every day to keep it that way.

Secondly, my member photo at the top and the two text lines underneath it have disappeared. It happened about two days ago and it still is showing only my user name. Could you fix this for me? I checked my "profile" settings and everything seems to be showing normally.

Thank You!

Harvey,

Sorry, I just discovered the "shrink and expand" button. Something must have switched it to minimal size.

Thanks,

Isabella, glad you figured it out!  I've been known to click it accidentally as I was scrolling or dragging the page around, especially on my iPad, LOL!

Hello Harvey!

I'm new to the Kindle Boards and am looking forward to having fun meeting new friends here, and perhaps even new readers!

I live in Middle Tennessee and besides being a stay-at-home-mom, I'm writing a 6 book fantasy series for Young Adults, and occasionally do copyediting assignments for one of my favorite authors!   I chose "Pirate Queen" as a nod to him and his work.  Every one who read's what I'll write here will soon learn who that will be, I'm sure.

Just wanted to get my name out there!  Thanks for the boards!

Hi Harvey,
I wanted to thank you for your help, I am getting the hang of things around here, but have a long way to go.
I just noticed that you live in Bellingham too - great place isn't it.  I grew up in Fairhaven and Boulevard Park was our very own swimming hole back then.  I live out in the county now but still pop over to Fairhaven from time to time so I can sigh "wish I was here."

I printed up two of my humor books at Village Books on their printer-on-demand machine.  They really do nice work, but I am finding that I am selling more on Kindle and Smashwords as ebooks - still the hard-copy is nice.

Thank you again for your help.

Hi Harvey,

I love the Kindle Boards for all the new information everyone provides when first they receive a new Kindle device.  I have a Mac and lately have found that the KB website is very slow loading and responding.  Is that due to the immense content or is your website more PC friendly?  I have not been on until just recently and did notice that the site is much slower than I remembered.

Thanks.  Keep up the good work!  Beth

Things have been much slower recently for my PC as well, so don't think it is your computer.

Hi Harvey:

We have tried and tried, but no matter what we do we can't change our profile pic? The one currently in use was a temporaray logo from last Christmas. Who should we contact about this? Thank you.

Krillpress--

Harvey is currently kicking back on the beach in Maui.   Cheesy

Are you trying to upload the picture from your computer?  How big is the file.  You have the best results if the picture is close to the 140x160 maximum size--too big a file and the system software can't handle it.

Also, be sure to close your browser and reopen to force a refresh.

Hello, I joined your site about a week ago and posted in the newcomers forum - then today searched for my book in the kindleboards author list and I'm not there. Can you tell me how to get there, and what else to do to get more exposure? Kind of a difficult site to navigate...

Hi, Lori - welcome to Kindleboards!

The best two things you can do to get some exposure as an author on Kindleboards is to put links to your books into your signature and to post threads about your books in the Book Bazaar board.

However, there are rules about these things, so before you start, it's best to read our Forum Decorum thread, where everything is explained - you can always ask questions if you're not clear on something.

You might also want to participate in the Writers' Cafe board, where lots of other authors hang out and you can pick up plenty of advice.

Apart from that, the more you participate in all the boards here, the more people will know your name - and see you books in your signature. Most people here are pretty voracious readers!

It's pretty easy to navigate really, but if you get confused as to where you are, you can always click on 'home' at the top of every page and that will take you back to the main index which lists all the boards.

Good luck with your books!

EDIT: sorry I didn't answer your main question! To be added to the master list of KB authors, go to this thread and follow the link 'READ THIS' for new authors.

Hi Harvey - administrator.
I'm just learning how to use these threads. HELP.
I just purchased a KB full banner ad. Although I received a receipt for the $40 payment, I did not receive information as to how to UPLOAD the banner that I prepared, nor information about when it will go live.

Can you please advise me.
Thanks, Elliot
