Reading on new K2 this morning.  Sudden jump from book to home screen.  Got back to book at proper place.  A few minutes later jump from book to reboot at tree screen.  All books back, but when I returned to "Unbearable Lightness of Scones" (great read) I was one chapter back.  Is this normal?  I have loaded no hacks.  First problem could have been operator error.  Crash not.

Well, I wouldn't call it normal, but it's not a disaster either.  If it does it again you may want to call CS and see what they say, but I wouldn't worry too much about an isolated spontaneous reboot.

What format was the book you were reading?  Topaz format books sometimes cause these problems.

Recently while reading The Lady of Milkweed Manor, I experienced some strange happenings.  When the Kindle had been asleep and was woken up, if I then did a Prev Page, it went back several pages.  I called Amazon and we did a few restarts.  The CS guy asked me to do some testing and sure enough, this only happened with this one book.  And it only happened after an awakening.  Strange, huh?  Must have had something to do with the formatting of the book.  Who knows.  I finished that book and have never had the problem again.  Although I did make sure after that to take note of my exact location BEFORE I hit Prev Page.

Amazon CS rep said he was reporting it to their book department where it would be looked into and they would notify me when the book was read to be downloaded again.  Haven't heard back from them and it's really a moot point now.  Scared me though!  I was afraid there was something was wrong with my Kindle.

Found this in another thread. Topaz formatted books are sold through Amazon, although most of their books are different formatting.
Topaz is a format.  It typically looks like a scan of a DTB, and the file has an extension of .azw1 or .tpz.
