I'm in for now also. I started reading the book yesterday. So far, it's not bad.

I do have the book, it was on my wishlist and then I got it free.  Smiley Happy to see some positive feedback, I had read a couple of posts where they couldn't finish the book. I do plan on reading it, just don't know when.

I just finished The Aluminum Turtle so I started The Whiskey Rebels a bit ahead of schedule.

I'm going to give it a shot!  I may not be posting a lot in the discussion thread, but I'll be reading all of the posts.  I'll add my .02 if I think of something worth saying!   Grin

Hello!

I love turtles, so when I read your post, I just had to hop over to the Amazon site and look up The Aluminum Turtle.  Cover looks interesting, but alas, no reviews or real info!  Was the book any good?

By the way, if there are other turtle fans out there, Turtle Moon by Alice Hoffman was very good.  Not sure if it is on Kindle, though.  And it was not about turtles.  Sad

The Aluminum Turtle is a mystery set on the west coast of Florida.  The detective is a blind man, Duncan Maclain.  The book was originally entitled The Spear Gun Murders and was published in 1960.  If you like the old-style mysteries (Josephine Tey, Agatha Christie), you'll like this one.

Here's a link for his books.
