I use it to read samples and very occasionally to read books, usually in hotel rooms after my hubby has gone to bed so I don't have to fiddle with my book light.
I'm guessing getting the Kindle for Mac app out is part of the response to Apple's iPad.

Yep, that's my suspicion as well. I don't know why having Kindle for Mac enthralls me. Maybe I just like having my books everywhere and anywhere. My Mac Air travels with me, but now that I have a Kindle, it will travel too! It's like... I want it all! |

Perhaps not novels; but there are some books that are "Optimized For Large Screens". It's far better to read these on the Mac rather than the small screen of my K2. |

I think this is fabulous! I love the idea of downloading samples to my MAC instead of my Kindle when I am searching online for books. I would love to be able to read the sample online instead of cluttering up my Kindle with samples.
