I bought The Lightning Thief thinking it would be an American Harry Potter with Greek gods. I've always been fascinated by mythology so it seemed like a no-brainer, especially with all the high marks it's received. But I didn't download the sample first - my bad. I hated it, and rued the $4.40 I spent on it. But then I recalled you can 'return' books w/in 7 days so I emailed customer service. The form says someone will get in touch w/in 12 hours but they didn't. Fast forward several days. I just sent another email to them last night, but still no word. And my account hasn't been credited.

For those who've requested refunds, how long did it take?

I got my refund within 4 hours when they billed me for a book twice (when they removed the MacMillan books then replaced them.)  If you neglected to download the sample first, that's really not their fault, though.  I'd be patient in this case.  Why didn't you just have them call you?  That option should have been there when you wrote (from the site) to alert them of an issue.

Both times it was late and my husband was asleep. Maybe I'll give that a shot right now.

I received a refund within hours of contacting Kindle customer service after I accidentally hit the "buy" button on a $14+ book.  yikes!!!

Poof! And it's done! I guess I just assumed sending an email would be the least painless route but Kayla at CS did it in two seconds. Cool!

Let us know what happens!  Sounds like you've hit a disconnect somewhere.
