wd, check out the Book Corner and also the "One Year Bible" book club section. . . .there are threads about the various bibles and how you navigate them. . . . .I know there's a company called OSNOVA that formats public domain bibles for relatively easy navigation. . . .not all the more modern translations are available, however.

Oh, and Welcome to KindleBoards!

Welcome to Kindleboards!
If you post your location, you may be able to find someone near you with a newer Kindle and you can take a look before you purchase.

Typically a book like a Bible will have a table of contents that will let you just to the book and chapter you want.  Some have links directly to verses as well.  Osnova's Bibles have a pretty unique method of navigation (I think in addition to the table of contents) where you can search for the reference you're looking for using a specific abbreviation for the book, plus the chapter and verse numbers, eg., Jn3.16, or something like that.

Hi, I am working on this very thing. What I have done is create the Table of Contents in such a way as to have all the books come up at the beginning, click on a book and all of the chapters of that book come up, click on the chapter you want and it shows all of the verses in that chapter. After you click on the verse, then and only then do you actually get to the text. It only takes 3 clicks from the Table of Contents, to any verse in the entire Bible. From there you can click the scroll wheel (in the Kindle 1) and go back to the Table of Contents, and it only take 4 clicks to get to the next place you want in the Bible. I have a KJV Bible in the Kindle store that I am currently working on the navagation and will replace it within the next week. The link in the Kindle store is http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0027CTF0U This version does not have a cover or built in TOC if you are interested.\
