A couple of weeks ago my Kindle 1 was hit by lighting.  And no this is nor an April Fool Joke.  The insurance did replace but with a K2.  I had my little one for over two years and had no plans to upgrade until a K3 was on the market.  But I digress. I have gone through the user's guides and am left in a baffle on some things.  One thing is the 'shortcut' to display time does bring up the time at the top of the screen but also displays the menu. Any help please.

BTW how do I get my avatar to upload?  Have tried several times.

Thank You

That is how you display the time, by clicking the menu button. Click it again and the menu and time disappear.

You are probably having trouble with your avatar because the size of your pic is too large. Oftentimes if the pic is more than 100 pixels in either direction it has trouble loading it. Make your pic smaller and it should be fine. If you have difficulty with this, email it to me (use the icon under my avatar) and I will upload it for you.

Yup, seems like the only way to get the time to pop up is to pull up the menu.  You get used to it though Smiley

An avatar loading problem I've had is that it wouldn't change. I finally opened Firefox and there it was. So now when that happens I close out and restart my IE browser and I have my new avatar.

pidgeon92, thanks for the 100 pixels tip. I sometimes have problems with my avatar size.
