Hello everyone. This is my first time here, and I hope no one jumps down my throat for this. I have a proposition for all of those who are willing to help out a small-time publisher (that's me!). The proposition is this:
I am testing out some books on my website to sell (Kindle formatted of course). Initially, I am only going to offer 10-25 for testing purposes. The books are all in the public domain, and there won't be anything like Harry Potter or Dan Brown, because that would be copyright fraud. I will sell these titles through Paypal for one cent each to you. As you may know, I won't make any money by doing this. And of course, most of you know you can get these books for free right from Amazon. However, I have heard quite mixed reviews about the freely available books. The idea is to eventually offer these same books at half of the going rate for public domain books on Amazon (99 cents). This would be my alpha phase. Once I have 500 fully formatted books, I would go to beta. 1,000 I wold call it version beta+ or something catchy.
What I can do for you is offer to you these books at beta phase for free if you are willing to help me out. There are more incentives I can offer later of course, but I would rather discuss them with those people who would truly be interested in helping me out with this project.
To show you all that I am serious, I will not post a link to my website or promote it in any way until I can show you all I am not a troll looking for some link-backs to my website.

I didn't quite get why someone would think that charging "half the going rate" (and then mentioning most were free) would be a good business. AND then setting up a new company then not following up with leads......doesn't make sense.

Haven't heard back from this person since receiving an email from him the first day. Am starting to wonder if it was an idea that isn't panning out for him. Am not losing any sleep or reading time over it howver.
