I have a book that I had read previously. I was trying to look something up and opened the book and it was where I had left it at 100%. I have repeatedly tried to access the menu so I could search for something and the menu screen will not come up. I have closed and reopened and tried again. Also the previous page button will not work on this book either and yet I was able to close that book and open another and navigate it with no problem. Go back to the problem book and nothing. Any ideas?Huh?

Have you tried deleting it and downloading it again?

Before I deleted and downloaded again I tried a couple of more things. I live way out in the country and it takes a long time to download a book via the whispernet thing and for some reason I don't like doing it from the computer.....I usually wait until I "go to town" where I can get a good signal and download any new books at that time......anyway...

First I tried Restarting and that did not work.

Secondly,  I went back to home and instead of clicking on the book to open it up, I slid the controller to the right where it has that menu of things like "go to last page read",  "remove from device" etc. I clicked on locations and typed in an earlier location and it went there. From then on I was able to move around inside the book like normal.

Oh good. I'm glad you got it working again.

I had a couple books (The Percy Jackson series) that the BRATs read before me. For some reason when I opened them they were PAST the last location. If the book had 4,600 locations, it was on location 5,300. It was really weird and it did it on at least 3 of them. I couldn't open the menu at all and I could only previous page a few dozen times until i got to the "real" end of the book. Once I made it back, I was able to open the menu at that time.

that the BRATs read before me.

You are very kind to let them read on your Kindle......I know I am overly-protective of mine. LOL. My husband was just looking at something on mine and I felt nervous the whole time it was out of my hands! Thankfully my husband has his own Kindle on its way :-)

Well, I don't let them read on it that much.  Grin My 2 oldest daughters (15 & 12) have iPhones and they use the Kindle App. I also have the Kindle app on my iPhone so my younger ones can read.
