Apparently the Kindle is featured a few times in the new Steve Carrell/Tina Fey movie, Date Night, which is getting really good reviews. This is from Facebook: Amazon Kindle - Watch Steve Carell, Tina Fey, and KINDLE in Date Night. Date Night, the new comedy starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey, also includes some Kindle cameos. Check it out in theaters and watch for Kindle scenes!

Well, this was not a movie I planned on seeing at all, and while this does not chane my mind in that regard, I am happy to think that the Kindle is now "mainstream" enough for them to believe people will recognize what it is.

Or Amazon paid for product placement. Betsy Just hope it's not "Return of the Killer Tomatoes" type product placement.

Doubt it. They could have just placed a site wide banner on imdb (which is owned by Amazon).

This MUST be product placement. No way a screen writer would put in a Kindle unless it was integral to the plot. Movies (and TV) have their own visual language and e-readers have no place in it unless it is a sci-fi film (and in that case, the e-reader looks more like an ipad). Still, if it gets some actual discussion in the film, could be fun.

I saw the movie Saturday night and saw the Kindle once. It was more than just a "sitting on the shelf" type of thing (don't want to give details and spoil the fun). When the scene came up I gasped, starting pounding on my husband's shoulder and pointing to the screen.
