I know this has probably been asked....but where do you read?

I tend to read at night in bed...and thats it.  Ive read that if you dont read ALOT then a Kindle isnt going to be worth the money.  I LOVE reading on the Kindle.  Its easier to read on than trying to hold a paperback in bed comfortably.  I find the e-ink is better on my eyes than regular paperback books as well.  I wanted to take it everywhere I go, I even bought the Borsa Bella bags (Med Hobo and Lg Kindle bag), but I cant see myself putting the Kindle in my bag and carrying it with me.  It just makes my bag way to heavy for me to carry.  But I love it none the less.  so....

Where do you read?

I read anywhere. I've read in bed, in the livingroom, in the backyard, while in line at the post office, at the pool, at friends' homes, in the car (parked, I swear! Cheesy), at the gym and a dozen other places. I bring my Kindle with me everywhere. I don't really notice the weight, but I think that's because before the Kindle I would carry my DTBs with me everywhere. And the Kindle is actually lighter than the usual DTBs I carried around. There are times, though, when I don't bring my Kindle because I don't want to carry it or leave it in the car. In those instances, I have my Touch.

I read at home, at work, at baseball/football games, at medical appointments, etc.
Pretty much any chance I get.
My Kindle goes everywhere with me. Smiley

Absolutely everywhere. I always have my kindle (or a DTB) with me wherever I go.

The vast majority of my reading time is spent in my living room.  In the last week, however, I have read in a coffee shop, in a doctor's office and in my back yard.

Everywhere.

At night in bed for awhile before I go to sleep is my dedicated reading time.  But I read anytime, anywhere that I have more than a minute or two of spare time.

I agree with the OP.  If the only spot I read was in bed the Kindle would still be the best thing ever.
In fact, I read much more in bed.  Every night as compared to occasionally pre-K.  Much easier to hold
than a DTB.
But I also read, like others here, just about everywhere.

I am homebound most of the time so I mostly read at home. In my chair in the living room, in bed or, if DH is at his computer I might sit and read at my computer (but not on the computer on my Kindle).

Because of my health issues and that we live in the middle of nowhere, when we do "go to town" we tend to run lots of errands and I might read my Kindle in a waiting room, or in Home Depot while DH shops, or in the truck while he has run in somewhere. I also read my Kindle at church, but I limit myself to Scripture while there.

Yesterday my husband got his Kindle in the mail! We spent the afternoon at a picnic table at the lake with our Kindles, so he could download the 198 books he had before it arrived! That was such a lovely way to read. Perfect weather, picnic lunch, sun sparkling on the water, boats, my husband and our Kindles!

I do take my Kindle everywhere I go just in case!

My primary spot is in my rocker in the livingroom.... but my Kindle always goes with me - that way my time is never wasted.  So, I'm reading in the car when we're on the road... I'm reading in the car in parking lots when DH goes into stores to shop.... I'm reading while waiting for doctor or dentist appointments..... I read when I'm out on my deck getting some fresh air .... and I LOVE to read in the bathtub while having a relaxing soak!!!

On a day to day basis, I ready in the living room, or out on the patio.  At lunch, I exercise half the lunch and eat/socialize the other half.  Of course, if we are on a trip, I read on the plane.

I keep magazines in the bathroom.  Does that count?  LOL

Home, at school, in lines, in the bath, during meals, in bed, anywhere I happen to have it and feel like reading. Smiley What's nice is throwing the Kindle in my backpack and then having a class canceled, because I can plop down in one of the lounges for an hour and knock off a chunk of my current book, instead of being bored and wandering around.

Thanks everyone for your replies! So how do you carry your Kindle around with you?  Do you have a purse big enough for it?  Do you have a separate purse just for the Kindle?

I now buy all purses that require for K2 to fit with iphone, wallet and etc....   I personally don't carry separate because... I might lose it...

I have a Borsa Bella bag but I never use it.  I have an Oberon cover which really protects the kindle and I carry it in my purse.  I'm with mtcoco.  All of my purses must meet the 'kindle' requirement.

Actually, I'm rather picky about purses.  I like them to be one handled (don't like two handles).  The purse itself needs to be light because my stuff adds extra weight.  If I pick the purse up and it's already heavy, I don't consider it.   It needs to be able to fit on my shoulder nicely, crossbody is even better, and it must have plenty of room for my stuff and the Kindle.

well I just tried to put my kindle in its case (M-edge prodigy) in my purse which is a med borsa bella bag now and it works just fine.  Maybe I just wasted 25 dollars getting the Kindle bag...

I read absolutely everywhere, though I never used to carry a DTB around.  I simply got rid of all the other heavy stuff in my purse so I could carry the Kindle; downsized the wallet to a bare minimum as well.  And went with a lighter cover because the Oberon was too heavy.

I do carry just a Kindle bag sometimes--tomorrow is a good example.  We're going to Opening Day of baseball season, and the last thing on earth I want is to carry a purse, so the K2, my flat frame wallet, phone and keys will all get put into one of Borsa Bella's bags and threaded through my belt loops--hands free.  Most of the time, I use a regular purse with no Kindle bag needed, and like others I've switched to using only purses that fit the Kindle.  In the house, I'll grab a BB travel bag, throw in the Kindle, the cell phone, and the house phone, and move it down the hall with me in the mornings, out onto the deck when the weather's nice, and back to the bedroom again in the evenings.  The K2 and iPhone are rarely out of reach!

Anywhere I can.

In line at the post office.  At the doctor's office while I'm waiting for my appointment.  At my desk.  At home on my couch.  In bed.  In the tub.  In the car while my husband is driving (it's a GREAT distraction for me, since I have bad road anxiety).  Seriously, if I can...I'm reading.

I read just about everywhere w/ the kindle and dtb.  Before the Kindle came around, my purse had to be big enough to carry a paperback, and now it has to be big enough to carry the kindle.  DH is now loving the kindle for the tts option.  This morning I almost had the kindle read to me while I was in the shower, but since the bathroom is right across the hall from napping Boss I would have.

Mostly while I'm in the bath - I take long baths - but I love reading in bed too.  Not so much in the living room because there is always a sticky little hand grabbing my ereader and changing the page on me.   Angry

Mostly on the couch in the family room, runner up is the window seat in my office. With warm weather coming I'll add the hammock in the yard and occasionally the pool float (with a waterproof cover, of course). I used to read DTB in bed all the time, pretty much had to read at least a chapter in order to fall asleep but somehow that routine got replaced with TV.
Most of my handbags are big enough to hold my Kindle in its cover. Depending on where and how I'm traveling it's either in there or in my photo backpack along with the netbook and, of course, camera and gear. My phone is an Android, I look forward to a Kindle app for it so I can read during downtime at my daughter's track meets.

How about a new question:  What is the BEST place to read?  Not necessarily where you mostly read... just where you WISH you mostly read.

Here are my top three places:

* Sitting by a fireplace, with a glass of wine, listening to rain patter outside

* In a fishing boat on a beautiful lake, a fishing rod in one hand, my ereader in the other

* Lying on a tropical beach, a pina colada in hand, and around me are a few hula girls and monkey butlers

What are your top three ideal (even imaginary) reading places?

I am looking forward to reading my Kindle on the deck on a cruise this summer. I'll keep envisioning it in my mind now to keep my patience up until that vacation time! Deck chair, drink, Kindle, sun...

(1) Where I DO read my Kindle:

Like others, I have it with my always. I tuck it in my purse. It fits, sort of, though I have to struggle to close my purse (my friend Frank says tactfully "You need a bigger purse!"  Shocked). My favorite place to read is in my easy chair. Yesterday was a typical day. I read in my easy chair, at Frank's house in front of his computer, in Frank's car while waiting for him to get something at the hardware store, at the restaurant when he went to the men's room, and so on.

(2) Where do I wish I mostly read:

At the beach, at a library (I still love libraries), at home in my easy chair.
