Okay...we've ALL gone there. Who doesn't imagine fantasy books as movies these days?
I might be prejudiced, but I believe Elfhunter, Fire-heart, and Ravenshade would make grand films!
Who would appear in YOUR cast of characters?

A few of mine:
Gorgon--Michael Clark Duncan
Gelmyr--Mel Gibson
Russell Crowe--Hallagond
Sir Ian McKellen--Lord Kotos

(Just to get the ball rolling...)

This is difficult. I do believe the trilogy would make great movies! I blended my own with Archer's choices!

(Winter/Archer) Gaelen - Keira Knightly

(Archer/Winter) Orogond - Johhnny Depp

(Winter) Nelwyn - Mandy Moore

(Winter) Galador - Russel Crowe

(Winter) Llewellys - Orlando Bloom

(Winter) Lady Aralde - Meryl Streep

(Archer) Ri-Elathan - Liam Neeson

(Archer) Gorgon - Michael Clark Duncan

(Winter) Lord Magra - Viggo Mortensen

(Archer) Lord Kotos - Sir Ian McKellen

(Archer) Hallagond - Hugh Laurie

(Archer) Gelmyr - Mel Gibson

(Archer/Winter) Fima . Sean Connery

Sorry that I had to use Russel Crowe Arch Wink I', pretty pleased with my cast so far, the only thin is that Crowe is maybe a tad to old for Mandy Moore, but everything can be "fixed" in movies right? This is so much fun! I found myself thinking about this the whole way to town today!

I combined ours Archer, still since this is who we would choose, I will put mine in if we disagree. As for Streep,

Now I have met Lady Arialde!!! Meryl Streep would make a perfect Arialde!!! She would look stunning with silver hair I think!
I still think that your suggestion of Connery is a good one!

Winter: Well done! You're right...everything can be fixed in movies. Brown hair can be blond, blue eyes can be brown, people can be made to look taller, younger, etc...

I see Sandra Bullock, Kiera Knightly, or Jennifer Lopez as Gaelen. They can all play strong females.
Sandra would also make a great Lady Ordath. Cheesy

Rain is such a LARGE fellow that I sorta pictured someone like Liam Neeson playing him. Good voice for it, too. I could see Viggo, though...through the magic of 'forced perspective'! (Gaelen is about 5'7...Rain is close enough to seven feet tall to make measuring him unnecessary. Orogond is also VERY tall for a man. He's almost as tall as Rain and he has about an inch on Galador.)

I think Hugh Laurie would also make a good Hallagond if Russell Crowe played Galador. We need someone who can really pull off the 'loveable rogue that you want to smack on a regular basis'.

Wonder what everybody else thinks of our cast?

I agree, Sandra could be playing Lady Ordath. But I expect it would have been one(or three) of my favorite movies, so I would REALLY loved Meryl Streep, my favorite actress of all, to play in it. I also think she have a face that I picture as elvish-like..

I can definitely agree that Liam Neeson could play him as well! I first actually made Viggo Gelmyr, but then I changed as I pictured him together with Keira.

I think Keira is perfect as Gaelen. She can play any strong woman, and she is stunningly beautiful! I think she could easily get that little wild look with shorter hair and still look wonderful.

For Nelwyn I picture Mandy Moore. She too is beautiful, but softer than Keira. I think she could easily have that concentrated look of an archer and still keep her soft look. I also think she is a really good actress and making her look elvish would be peace of cake.

The reason I want Russel Crowe to be Galador is for his eyes. They look like they bear years of grief and sorrow if he wants them to. He still look hansome, and I think he would be great! I haven't yet met Hallagond.. Or have I?

I think your choice for Gorgon is exellent!!

Horse question is easy!
Finan is an Arabian, as is Siva.
Eros is a Connemara--a BIG Connemara. He could also be played by a draft cross, but the color is important.
Realta is an Anglo-Arabian (Thoroughbred/Arab cross)
Toran is ALL SHAGYA!

Cheesy

(I like your choice for Nelwyn. And Meryl is one of my favorite actresses also! How about her for Arialde? You'll meet her soon.)
You have NOT yet met Hallagond, but I have the feeling you will LOVE him.

I look forward to meet her! Any character that Meryl Streep could play should be a favorite of mine ^^

I totally forgot. Mandy Moore is a great singer. She could sing in the movies Wink This is just beautiful! One of my favorite songs!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ofeDruIwTM

I am exited to meet Hallagond!! Maybe Sandra Bullock for Lady Ordath then?

It's so much fun planning and finding actors etc! It makes me care for the book even more! Looking forward to some quality time with Elfhunter and a cup of tea tonight!

I'm not very good at coming up with actors...something to do with the only movies I see are animated? I can name most of the Pokemon tho! Grin Kids!!!

I like your choices so far, but I have a "look" in mind for Gaelen. I'll have to search some movie websites for ideas tonight.

Hope everything went well today, Archer!

I am home!
I am okay !
I have good drugs!
I am typing already!

(BTW...Fima does NOT speak with a Scottish accent, or any other accent. He is an academic and is fluent in many languages--his normal speaking voice is a little gravelly, but soft-yet powerful. The voice is very Important! Good luck...)

I like Sean Connery for the role, but only if he can keep the accent to a minimum. A little would be okay...

I think Sean Connery is perfect! Isn't it normal to act out an special accent or no accent, or even another language? I think definitely he can do it! I love Sean Connery, he is great!

Fima is easy. Peter Dinklage, currently in Death at a Funeral. He's a good actor (see The Station Agent) and you don't need optical tricks for him to be the correct height.

As I said in a different thread, I think Orlando is a little too "pretty" for Orogond.
I like someone like Matt Damon for the role.
