I ordered a new K2 on Sunday finally. I decided the new folders issue finally made it worth my while.
And today, while running innumerable errands for my grandmother, I set my Kindle down somewhere (like in a shopping cart) and forgot it until I got home. Then I decided I was just to tired to deal with going to look for it tonight, so I called the stores where I had been and left my contact info in case it was returned. Embarrassed   Cry
My K2 is due to arrive tomorrow in any case, I just wanted the K1 to give to my uncle who lives in a limited amount of $$ and space & loves to read. Here's hoping someone turns it in and I get a call.

Oh no! I hope people are decent and turn it in. Good timing with the K2 though. Huh, that just reminded me that I had a dream last night that I was scuba diving and found a kindle sitting on top of an octopus and it still worked, so I was excited to have another kindle. Huh

I agree. Just in case someone doesn't go on a buy spree. Hope it gets turned in. I'm sure your Uncle would love it.

Yes, all of my contact info is in it, and yes, I did deregister it. I have had it for almost 2 years.

Oh dear, I hope you find it!  I can't bear losing my K1 even when though I don't use it as much anymore...it's was the best birthday present from my brother...  I almost lost my K2i once, it totally freaked me out because 99% of the time it is right next to me.  But luckily mine was on my desk at work covered by a memo.  I had diven all the way home from a long grueling day at work, only to drive right back to make sure it was at my side again.  Okay, so no one steals in my office, but I didn't want to take the risk.  Ironically we recieved a memo on some who lost their iTouch which was on their desk...

It's like it cries out to me: "help me!  Take me home!"Wink

I was going to say before reading the whole thing was:

Ah shucks you lost it, now you'll have to get a K2 *giggle*, but..... you already upgraded

I hope someone turns it in for your uncle!

I've had a few scares, but it eneded up being in my shop under some papers I hate that when that happens!

Oh no!
So sorry to hear that you lost your Kindle.
I'm really hoping that someone has found it and turned it in.

Bummer....hopefully it will turn up somewhere and you'll get a phone call. Luckily you have a new one arriving anyways, but it sounds like your uncle would really enjoy it. Best of luck!

Yesterday must have been the day for forgetting stuff...my son sat his bookbag down at the playground after school with friends and proceeded to forget it. When he went back it was gone...hopefully someone will turn it in at school.

So sorry about your Kindle. I really hope you get it back and can pass it on to your uncle.
My daughter went to the grocery store before work yesterday and lost her keys. She thought she'd locked them in her trunk and she called me to bring her a spare set, but meanwhile she went back into the store and looked and found them in a case in the bakery aisle.

It's too late now, but if you get another one, it's very cheap to get a personal articles policy added on to your homeowners or renters insurance that covers all risks. Not deductible and it covers any kind of loss, theft, damage, etc.

no update on the lost Kindle. I hit all the stores I wnet to the other day and talked with their lost/found people and nothing.

K2 arrived yesterday, I am still getting used to it. I really miss the "feel" of my K1 in my hand. Oh.. and new K2 did NOT come with 2.5 update, SO I will wait a while before screensaver hacking.

Sorry to hear that it still hasn't shown up. Glad you have your new K2 though. It does take some getting used to after the K1. I didn't like it at first and it took me a couple weeks to fall in love with it.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
And that it has not turned up.
It is indeed a good thing that you had already ordered a K2.

Hope it all works out for the best.

You have my best wishes for it's return.
