Okay...new topic! Consider the Alterran characters you have met. Are there any whom you would like to meet in person? Which (if any) would you take home (or to an imaginative setting such as a deserted tropical island) and why?
Now, remember...this is a family thread!
Example: I would take Orogond home in a heartbeat. I would live with him. I love his devotion, his considerate nature, and (ahem) his stature/bearing/appearance. He is a wonderful human being.
Now, RAIN is the one I would take to a deserted tropical island. If you can't imagine what for, I can't help you! If Rain were not available, Magra would do.
Fima is the one I would invite over for beer and barbeque. He's the one I would sit by the winter fire with and discuss philosophy. He's the one I would take to the pub. He MIGHT be the one I told my troubles to--if Nelwyn weren't around.
Gorgon I would take to the boss' office after first convincing the boss that wearing pointy rubber ears made him look distinguished.
What say you, Alterran Adventurers?

Well, Gaelen stole my heart long ago so she'd be the one I'd take home AND to a desert island. I love her tenacity, her ability to get things done on her own, her tenderness when needed and her "low maintenance". She'd be hard to keep up with, but that can be a good thing. I think Azori would be the guy I'd go to a pub with, but not the early Azori...the better-mannered, Estle-tamed Azori. I don't want to get into a bar brawl by going with him, but I like a guy that can appreciate a good brew. I think the troubles-telling would have to be reserved for any of the Asari. They seem best suited to know the direction you should take when faced with a particular situation or lack of direction. Cool, thought-provoking topic, Archer!

Well, I have always wanted to take Fima home. I love his stories and could listen to him for hours. Then, well, I really like Magra. He is everything one should have in an elf. And Finan could live in my pasture, anytime.

My choice to take home would have to be Galador. We have both shared a past of grief, but can look into the future together But Nelwyn wouldn't love that, would she? I love the elves committment to each other! When talking og Nelwyn, she would be my friend of choice! But if seeking advice, I would consult Lady Arialde and have her as a mentor. And I think the most fun to be around would be Fima! But Galador would be my Island choice I think!

Well, Winter...perhaps you really ARE Nelwyn (in a different plane of existence). Ever thought of that? Galador was one of the most fun characters to develop throughout the story. Sorry to hear that you have suffered a loss, though. Grief is a very difficult thing to experience and overcome. Be well... ...'Archer' PS--The 'Fire-heart' book klub is up. Just in time for you and your sis to enjoy it as you read.

Hmmm. I do love the elves (in a platonic kind of way). With their long life-spans it seems that they do not get passionate about things.
While one MUST like and admire Gaelen and respect Nelwyn and look forward to spending time with FIMA, they are after all, not human. For this question are we limited to Book 1 or can we consider all three books?

Aye but there be no question in my mind -- a couple of (dozen) pints of good ale and an evening of stimulating conversation with Fima would be very enlightening I'm sure.
Or perhaps a couple of jugs of good honey and an evening of stimulating laughter with Gaelen or Newlyn wouldn't be bad either.....

Hey Archer and other Elfhunter fans . Can't believe it's taken me this long to get over to this thread . If I could choose one of the characters to take home, it would definitely be Rain. I love his quiet, damaged essence. He's a deep soul and someone who seems hard to really get to know. I'd love the challenge and would be rewarded if he managed to let me in . -Jenna

Take home as friend: Gaelen, I like a challenge and she is definitely a challenge.
I'd love to get Fima to the Cracked Anvil with a little bit of Stan's ale and a lot of time for tale-spinning.

I would take home Gaelen (She is a hottie after all), but just so I could have her sit and talk with Arcturus. I would pay good honey to see that.

Gaelen would probably enjoy Arcturus as long as he did most of the talking. She LOVES to hear a good story.

Arcturus isn't much for tale telling. POLITICS, however...

I live alone, I don't want anyone else there, but if I could sit in the back listening during an evening at a pub with Fima telling stories, Gaelen singing, and others sitting around joking and talking, I would really enjoy that.

Robin: I would enjoy that, too! Fima is always my first choice for 'hangin' out'. (However, I would take certain manly Elves and/or a manly-man home for...well, a little while! Wouldn't have to LIVE with me or anything.)

Hey, guys...I have some of the coolest news ever. If you want to share, send me a pm. My special friends in the Book Klub only!
Do you think maybe Rie should have one of my special little...ummm...gifts? (Brian and Tip have them, and Geoff will be getting one too.) Do you think she can be trusted?

Ok...I've had a couple of months to really think it through. I'd STILL take Galen home! However, I'm kindof missing her since I haven't had anything "new" to read about her lately. Anybody know anyone that could do something about that?
