I don't mean to brag or complain, but I was one of the lucky few to receive the 2.5 update to my K2i when it was first released. (Yay!)  But I have a question:  Will my 2.5 version eventually update automatically to 2.5.2?  Is there any noticeable difference between 2.5 and 2.5.2??  Should I care?

Whereas I'm eagerly awaiting the updated screen saver and font hacks, I hesitate to install them should they become available prior to my receiving 2.5.2.  Should I look forward to/worry about getting the 2.5.2?

I have a K2i with v2.5 and a DXi with v2.5.2 and to be honest, I couldn't tell you what the difference is. It may be just something going on in the background that makes stuff run quicker or more efficiently. It certainly isn't one of the major features that's changed. I had been running 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 on them before the update and I could never see what the difference between those two were either.  Undecided

Thanks, Lin.  You're right-- I can't see any difference between my 2.5 and my partner's 2.5.2.  But, I just wondered if I should expect my 2.5 to eventually update to 2.5.2 automatically some day?  I'd like it to happen before the new font and screensaver hacks are available.

I don't know if they'll bother to auto update 2.5 to 2.5.2 but once they put up the manual file for 2.5.2 I intend to try updating my K2i. I would expect the file to be made available before the hacks, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I used Amazons file to upgrade from 2.5 to 2.5.2 but haven't played enough to see any difference yet.

I've now got v2.5.3 on both my Kindles and I can't see any major difference from v2.5.2 or even v2.5. I would imagine they've just added performance / bug fixes in the background - certainly there are no new user features that I can see.

Yes!  Mine automatically uploaded to 2.5.2, then "Update your Kindle" appeared again, and voila!  I now have 2.5.3.  I guess when it's ready to update it does.  Really easy.  (But I know it's been really nerve-racking to those who have been waiting since April.)  I hope we can all relax now and settle down with a good book.  I'm enjoying "Shanghai Girls" by Lisa See.
