Is there an easy way to tell whether the replacement is new or a refurb?  not sure it matters I'm just curious the email they sent confirming the replacement said and has price listed as $294.00 new but the software running had 2.0.4 (until I updated to 2.3.3) so it just got me wondering

Generally, if the Kindle you are replacing is less than 30 days old, you get a new one. After 30 days, they tend to send a refurb.

I don't know if they still do it, but they used to put a sticker (green?) on the box when there was a refurb inside.

it is a refurb I was confused though because the email said new and I was told if it had a charger with it it was new.  I honestly don't care as long as it works. But started to wonder when after being outside for 30 minutes or so faint gray lines appeared on the screen Like smuged ink on paper.  words never disappeared. I hit the home key and they cleared.  I called this am they had me do a hard reset and if it happens next time I'm outside or inside  let them know.

I got a refurb today and there was a green sticker on the box, and 2.3.3 on it. I immediately registered it, then put the font hack on it! I have 2.5.2 on my DX but don't like the sorting by collections as much as I like having the subscriptions separated as originally done. All my billing on the email reciept and on my account say $0.00 all the way down though.

I found, if you put everything in collections and then sort that way, your page will show the collections and then your subscriptions.  I haven't made that many folders so the subscriptions do still all show up on the front page. . . .I am not sure why they did away with the automatic subscription sort, without letting them be sorted into our own collections either. . . .but in the grand scheme of things, it's minor for me.

It will probably be minor for me too. I just can't decide which is more important to me, the font hack or the update. I've been so indecisive! That is why I have the 2.5.2 on one and not the other. I think I'll develop a preference one way or the other. I hope.
