Okay, so you've finished the trilogy. Sounds as though most of you have enjoyed it! That's good news.  Smiley

The topic of this thread deals with the aftermath and the future of the Alterran story.
Where should we go from here? What would you like to see happen in future books? Which characters would you like to see developed/featured more? Any back-stories you're curious about? I can arrange that!

Let your imagination run wild!

Two things come to mind after thinking about the other thread in this forum...as a reader with a slight penchant for the romantic side, it's terrible to think of the inevitable split of Gaelen and Orogond.  While I'm sure Rain was a great guy and all, he was only around briefly (relatively speaking) from a reader's perspective.  Gaelen has given her heart to him as a soul-mate, but what about Orogond?  Isn't there a way it doesn't have to end with he and Gaelen?  It's like waiting for something horrible to happen.  Undecided

Help me out here, Archer...pleeeeeaaaassseeeeee?

Ooh! A discussion!! Cool!

I know what you mean, and so does Orogond. He knows that one day he will be taken into the Light, whereas Gaelen will go on to Elysia. Because the Elves are such spiritual creatures (they have visited the afterworld several times in the books) we are fairly certain that they are correct about their destiny (it's not just a myth or a 'belief'). Men, on the other hand...well, no one is really sure. WE are, though, because we've seen it!

Orogond does not know whether he will outlive Gaelen or not. Obviously, that will only happen if she is killed, which, given her penchant for getting herself into mayhem, is not unlikely. But if she survives him, she will be forced to part from him forever. The death of Rain nearly destroyed her...I feel bad for the little buzzard if she is left alone again. She truly loves Orogond and is bound to him until death do them part.

Is there a way that Orogond and Gaelen can be together for eternity? What do you think?
(I'm afraid Rain has to be included...he's been waiting a long time already and he IS Gaelen's destined life-mate.)
