I have been gone almost a week, my brother had a stroke last Tuesday and I had to head to Ohio to be with him. Just got back home. They are going to try to wean him off the vent, hopefully that will go well. He has a long road to go and it is unsure of how much he will e able to do but he is tough and has a strong will so hopefully in time things will get better for him. I know they say you never get more than you can handle but gee enough is enough. Why is life so unfair?  |

Linda, I'm so sorry to hear about your brother.
He will be added to my prayer list.
Could we have his first name, if that's okay?
And I'm going to post this in our Prayer thread also.
Lots of prayers warriors there that may not catch this thread.

Know there are prayers going out from here. Hubby had a little stroke on the 16th. And from his MRI they can see there was a previous one too. SO while there seems to be no permanent damage we are going thru tons of tests here. So I know a bit of the worry. Many prayers and healing thoughts going out for him.

Protect them with your gracious and merciful hand and let not harm fall upon them.
Lord, we pray you will guide the doctors as they help Chubby on the road to recovery.
Lord, we also pray you will comfort Linda and all those close to her in their time of need.

Oh sweetie, I feel so bad. You've had enough already. You and your brother are both in my prayers...not just a little one. That is a given.
My friend Joey's older brother didn't feel well; went to the hospital...they said nothing was wrong; he had insisted that he didn't feel right. You're fine Mr. B...go home. Later that night his sis couldn't get a hold of him; so she went to his place and found him...Stroke. HAPPY NOTE: HE HAS COME A LONG WAY. There is hope and faith in numbers...we have that here on these boards. All the best. Keep us updated.

Update on my bro... The prayers are working. He has moved from icu to a rehab unit. Passed his swallow test so they may be able to remove the trach and feeding tube and their goal is to get him home!!!
