I use text-to-speech sometimes to have my Kindle read to me, and I love it. But sometimes I use it with the volume down just so it'll turn the pages for me, and it reads much slower than I do. By any chance does the 2.5 update offer more reading speeds?

Even if books don't have TTS, I wish the Kindle still had a page-turning option. (It's not that I'm THAT lazy, but I read when I'm on the treadmill or doing other things with my hands.)

TTS still has the slower, default and faster options with v2.5 - whether or not they're the same speeds as before I have no idea. I don't know of any other way to make the text scroll for hands free usage. You'd be better off either actually listening to the TTS rather than reading yourself, or better still, buying a few actual audio books - they're perfect for the treadmill etc. and obviously much better than the somewhat robotic TTS voice.

I use TTS daily, and it hasn't changed with 2.5. Well, it's a bit quieter, but the reading speed hasn't changed.

Love TTS while walking the dogs, on the treadmill, making breakfast, putting on makeup, doing my hair, dressing, in the car, doing the dishes.... etc. I've gotten used to the voice and love the convinience of going back and forth between reading and being read to, which you can't do with an audio book.

I have not noticed the volume but I agree with Scott that it does turn on quicker.
