Millard, Sean: yes, I do understand what you're saying about the single author page, though in my case, I have possibly to build a new page in competition with the Wikipedia-sourced page which I don't have permission to edit.

What I also meant to ask about are the individual book pages: you know, every book you publish can have its own page on Facebook (though it's a lot of work making it, then going around trying to get "likes"). To what extent do these help?

Also, I don't know how to reach the people who have become fans of a particular book page. Possibly a new Facebook policy. The only thing I can do is appoint them as administrator--and I don't know if that would be a good idea. Has anyone tried it?

Not to get too terribly off subject, but everyone seems to be a lot more savvy about Facebook than I am. I converted my regular page to a fan page, which I thought would be ok since I rarely post there, but it has really restricted what I can do now. I can't do anything except write on my own wall. Which is fine mostly except, for example, when a fan asked me about my other title and I ended up elaborating the answer into a note and I couldn't tag her or message her to let her know it existed.

Is there a way to have an affiliated personal page or will I need to make a new one from scratch?

I went to that link and I'm still confused. What if you don't have a business page created yet?

I just reactivated my personal page but, like another poster, I'd like to keep family stuff separate from book stuff.

Where do I go to create a separate fan page if it's allowed?

I know there is a link somewhere to "make a page", but they've just shifted me over to "timeline" view and I'm not sure where it went now!

I already had a personal page with lots of connections with family and friends, so I created a page for my DBA Clary Books, and I can talk about all my projects there. Other people post to my wall on that page also, so I'm not sure why others have had troubles with people being able to use the page.
