Has anyone tried the Kandle light for the DX. Does it provide lighting for the entire screen, and is it bright enough for the larger screen? Thanks for any help that one could provide.

Unless there a specific model of Kandle for the DX, I would not like the Kandle on my DXG based on my experience in using one on my K2i.

The light was very uneven and was much too dim at the bottom of the K2 screen for my taste. I returned it a got a Belkin, which is now on my DXG.

The downside is that the Belkin uses the standard gooseneck design - I really wanted the Kandle to work for me because I lik it's compact design.

Of course lighting sensitivity and preference is a personal thing, I am 62, so my sight ain't what it used to be so I probably need more light than the youngsters here.......

I'll be trying mine out when my shiny new graphite KDX shows up tomorrow. One tip I've seen to counteract the light fall-off is to clip the light to the side of the KDX instead of the top. I'll probably be doing that, as long as it doesn't get in the way of my hands.

I would be very interested in hearing your opinion of how this worked for you.....

I finally remembered to try the Kandle on the DXG tonight. I'll certainly be clipping it to the side instead of the top when I use it, clipping to the side (on the left, where there conveniently aren't any buttons) means that the light fall-off is on the right side of the screen, and it's lit much more evenly from top to bottom. Clipping the Kandle to the top means that the bottom of the screen is lit even worse than it was on the K2, which was hard for me to read.

Overall, though, I think I'm more likely to reach for a reading lamp than a reading clip light, I really prefer a lot more light than any of the reading lights I've tried provide.

Meglet, thanks for the report. I was hoping for a "glowing" review because I like the form factor of the Kandle

I received a black Mighty Bright today, and really like it. I had been using a Belkin from my K2, but I found the white colored Belkin distracing on the graphite DX - it stuck out like the proverbial sore thumb.

The Mighty Bright is indeed mighty bright, but it has a low setting that is noticeably dimmer for those times where the high setting might be too much. I found the light looks/works best when the clip is placed on the upper left corner of the DXG frame. I turn the clip so its length runs across the top of the frame.

I read the Kindle without a cover - though that may change in the future. I gave my wife my 2 mo. old K2i, and bought her an Oberon cover which will be here by the end of the week. I fear I will hypnotized by it's the beauty of it's art, and will "need" to get one for my DXG.....
