“The book has lots of good twists and an interesting futuristic society.” -- reader review

"The characters were well developed and the suspense kept me turning the pages!!" -- reader review

"As someone who generally isn't interested in science fiction, I liked this book because the people and their experiences were the focus rather than the science fiction...I enjoyed seeing the characters come into their own...I did not anticipate the ending - it was a great twist" -- reader review

But when he sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream of exploring the stars at a military academy, things go from bad to worse.

RW, may I offer a small suggestion for your blurb?  As written above, it could be read that he is going to "explore the stars" AT the military academy.  A reversal is needed, IMO, such as the following:

But when he sets out to a military academy to fulfill his lifelong dream of exploring the stars, things go from bad to worse.

The very best of luck with this new novel.

Gorden, thanks for the correction. The sad part is that this blurb is from the back cover of the printed edition (which is already finished). I should have challenged the editor working the cover, who took my original blurb and shortened it (but I let myself become buried in a thousand to-dos).

Call of destiny is now available on Barnes&Noble and Kobo. Kobo has listed the book for $2.39, a 20% savings over the $2.99 list price, making it that much more affordable. Of course, there is still the $1.99 coupon offer above as well.
