I am showing my ignorance here as a non-technology person so please forgive me.  I have a K1 and am thinking of upgrading.  My question is: If you buy the WI-FI only @ $139, can you still download books via your computer?

Hi Tina. . . . .yes you can. . . .(if you want to read the whole manual it's available as a PDF via Kindle Support.  I have done so. Roll Eyes )And I understood it to say that you can still download via computer just as you always could.  The difference is that you would not have access to WN with a WiFi only model unless you were in range of a WiFi hotspot.  That could be your home, or a commercial place like Panera or Starbucks, or a free public WiFi hotspot.  So no more downloading while driving down the freeway at 70 miles an hour. (Of course I only did this when someone else was driving! Shocked)

When I look at the "Buy Now" link in the Kindle Books, it used to offer me only the choices of Nelson's Kindle or my Kindle for PC.   Now there is another alternative, "Transfer via Computer".
Interesting.

I was thinking the transfer option has been there for a while.  I know Dona, who lived in Mexico, always used that option.
