She's just trying to get mean votes.
Do I get to vote or am I still on the list?

why wouldn't you be allowed to vote? just because you're a sexist pig doesn't mean you don't have rights. which can be revoked at ANY time.

Just re-connecting here after a busy work day. You all have been busy! I like what you're coming up with, too. A couple of thoughts: - I like having Cervantes in there, but if we do the whole name, it may line-break and look cluttery in people's avatar area. (The longest name we have right now - Doyle - is 18 characters and that's about the max before it line-breaks on most displays.) An option perhaps is to just use the last name "Cervantes". - I paused to think about Scheherazade. She's not a "real person", as far as I know. But I think that's okay and a good addition as a legendary story-teller. - If you wish, I can post about this on the forum news banner, to invite more people to comment before we implement the change. - Regarding stars: yes, I just checked inventory and we can provide more stars for those new higher levels. Current proposal:Dr. Seuss - less than 50 posts Madeleine L'Engle - 50 Lewis Carroll - 100 Jane Austen - 250 Arthur Conan Doyle - 500 Miguel de Cervantes - 1000 Scheherazade - 2500 Isaac Asimov - 5,000 Agatha Christie - 10,000 Shakespeare - 25,000

works for me.
If you made it "Miguel deCervantes" would that solve the wrap around problem. . . .without being totally wrong and calling down all sorts of grief from the semanticists. . . . . .

Is there a reason that the only American author is Isaak Yudovich Ozimov?
I don't really care, I just wanted to start trouble.

I never noticed it, but our list does have a definite British persuasion. And we never even included Dickens!

Can we substitute Dickens for Scherezade? I don't think she belongs.

<cough> And what's wrong with that? (I'd prefer Scheherazade to Dickens, myself... I like her stories better.)

It feels odd to me to swap Lewis Carroll and Madeline L'Engle, but it makes sense for the alternating male and female.

I'll come out on record that I really don't care which authors we finally agree on. I'm just happy to be adding some new levels! That means we're planning to stick around awhile longer so we can reach some of these goals!

At least you're not bumping me down to Jane Austen again! I'm with Heather, I'm not really over-concerned about WHO we add. But it will be nice to have some new goals to work towards.
