I bet it don't taste like chicken either...even if it was chicken to start with.

Yippee! Like SNL's Sally O'Malley, I'm 50! 50 posts! It took me nine hours apparently. So I'm hoping what you see here is my new "Lewis Carroll" Member Status. It's the little things!

Here I wander in to find out how much longer I have until I can get rid of Jane Austen (UGH), and now I'm craving pecan pie. Thanks a bunch.
(wonders who's open with decent pie at this time of night....)

Hey Harvey, Did you make down this far? May I ask my original question AGAIN? Not WHAT the current Member Status Positions are. WHY DO YOU NEED THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE?

We don't need them, but we like them. The software default has member levels based on number of posts. I don't know if it's something that has to be there but they are and, as I say, people seem to like 'em. Early on, when the board started getting more populated, the consensus was that we ought to use something more related to authors/books/etc. rather than the default labels.

Oh, that's why I was having that sinking feeling. Or perhaps it was because I once lived in East Orange. By the way, welcome, Ricard of Orange.
