I am confused about where I should buy my kindle..

How/where should I buy My kindle...

I am from the Uk, I am currently living in spain, but I travel to the US 3 or 4 times a year... (there in 4 weeks time)

I have a credit balance in my amazon US account.

Do I buy through the uk account and get it shipped to spain, or through the us account...and get it shipped to spain or a friends house where I can pick it up..

which will give the the best range of books ease of use, when travelling

If you have a US credit Card and address, I would buy it through the US. There is a larger book selection here. I have heard that the UK store is less expensive though. Take a look at the bookstores and see which one suits your needs best.

You don't need a US credit card to go through the US store but you do need a US address AND some form of ID to prove you're a US resident.

Also, it doesn't really matter which store you buy the actual Kindle itself from. The only difference is the charger. I bought my Kindle from the UK store but my account is set up with the US store as a US resident (with a UK credit card).

I have heard other folks in Europe say that they could NOT order via the UK site. . .that is ONLY for UK folks.  I think you have to order it from the US site. . . . . . .

That may be the case for most Europeans but the OP has mentioned that he/she is a UK citizen with a UK drivers license with a UK address. The OP can set their country to UK and if Amazon pick up on the Spanish IP address and ask for proof of residence, he/she can supply their UK driver's license.
