Is it just me or have other folks gotten in to the mode of just reading on the new Kindle 3, and enjoying it?  Smiley

Mine has already been to two different radiation oncology waiting rooms and  of course I read in bed, while brushing teeth, drying hair and whenever I can grab some time.  And it is a wonderful screen, isn't it?

But I'm also watching lots of tennis with the US Open on and checking in on friends in Christchurch, NZ.. big earthquake there.

Hope your friends are OK in New Zealand Seamonkey  Sad

I agree about the screen. That's the two biggest things I notice when I pick mine up to read. The screen and the build quality of the Lighted cover.  Smiley

Mine has already been to my Neurologist.

He asked for and received a complete demo.

He said he had already looked on the Amazon web site and was disappointed to see that they were currently out of stock.

I mentioned to him that the DXG is in stock and has a larger screen.

Maybe I can get a discount on my next office visit.

Thanks.. all three have checked in.  The one woman still hasn't found her cat but her house is pretty much ok.. her neighbor's chimney isn't looking like it will stay up.  She's REALLY stressed with all the aftershocks .

The other two are a couple and they have a german shepherd and a bunch of rescued cats.  I guess as soon as the shaking stopped, one was under the house, well looking under with her "torch" and they think all of their cats are there plus some extra ones.  But they have damage to their house including the toppling of their chimney.

But thankfully all of them are okay.

My doctor actually asked if he could rent my K2 after I go my DX and stupidly I laughed and said no way, just borrow it.

I've shown him the K3 of course and he's seen the DX as well.

One of his staff had been using the Kindle app on her ipod touch  but she'd looked at my Kindles.  Last time she said her family got her a Nook for her birthday, and shrugged.  I of course was positive and said well she can use their app too.

My Kindles have been to my family doctor, my gastroenterologist, my gynecologist, ny oncologist, spend the night in the hospital, of course they go when I get a haircut and to the dentist.  I took one to Relay for Life but then realized it wasn't that safe being we were camping in a tent, so it stayed in the car.  My K1 came along when I drove a friend to the ER and frankly got better attention than did my friend!   The medical person who led us back actually carried my KINDLE and let me push my friend in a wheelchair!

And for the last year my kindles have got with me and the cancer patients I drive to hospitals, clinics , cardiologists, oncologists, radiation, chemo, when they go for scans or infusions, for bloodwork, or pharmacy.. we've travelled about 6000 miles just taking patients.

I really don't leave  home without a Kindle.

Aren't we just the best enablers for Amazon???
