After reading on my new Kindle 3 for about 20-30 minutes, the page refresh becomes slower.

It's only about 1 s more but the effect is quite strange. It looks like the older page remains for an extra sound.

Is there any reason why this is happening?

Thanks!

Were you outside in the sun? Or in a hot place? if you just look around the forum this is a common problem.

Thanks, well I was in my room.

It's Singapore so temperatures are relatively high, however I had my air-conditioning switched on.

I have had a look at the other threads but none seemed to provide a clear answer...guess it's still up in the air!

Thanks

Have you recently downloaded a lot of books?  It's possible the device is busy doing the indexing.  In that case, response for 'usual' stuff might slow.  And, occasionally, a book file will be corrupted and can't index.  But the Kindle will keep trying, which will, again, cause slow down in other operations.  You can check for an un-indexed file by searching for a nonsense string and see what shows.  If there's a book that's just not indexing, you can delete it re-download it.

Thanks. I guess it's the new books I've added. Will update after indexing, etc. finishes.

abhiroopb -  I was wondering if you found a resolution to this problem? I have this exact same problem on occasion, and have tried all the resets, etc, no indexing is going on, all that, and I simply don't want a refurb replacement from amazon (because, otherwise, my kindle is great, and I don't want one with another problem (this is my 3rd, btw--what's up with (the utter lack) of quality control on these things, anyway??))

Does anyone else notice this problem? Anyone heard from CS about a possible software fix? I've emailed CS repeatedly asking if this is being worked on, and can't get a straight answer (extremely frustrating "customer service" for the kindle -- always those cut-and-paste robot replies -- like a human isn't even actually reading the emails, etc....).

Anyway, just hoping for an update on this issue?
