After using a K2 (and recently a K3) for the past ten months, I'm really struggling with the process of reading a paperback that a friend loaned me. The type is too small, there's no place to clip my Kandle, and when I dropped the book this morning, I lost my place. Grrr.
I think I'm hooked.

Lol I couldn't agree more! Totally struggling with a hardback of my husband's! The bookmark fell out the other day and I had a hell of a time finding my place!

Good to see I ain't the only one to whom this is happening @A7DK: I solved my "bookmark problem" by using a paperclip as a bookmark.

Couldn't agree with you more! Every once in a while I read a book from the library if it isn't available for Kindle.... or if it's priced WAY high.... and I absolutely hate it. And, paperbacks are the worst. My eyes hurt after a very short time... I get a "reading a paperback" headache... lose my place often (I get tired of moving a paper clip along with me all the time)... and it's just a totally unpleasant experience. Makes me VERY grateful for my Kindle!!

A couple of years ago I read a book by a popular author who just released a new book this year. I've decided to go back and read all of his books in publication date. All of his books are available from Amazon as an e-book except for one, which was only available as a paperback. So when I'm done reading the book I'm currently reading I'll be going "old-style" and reading the paperback. Fortunately it's in what I call a "larger format" (5.25" x 8") paperback so it'll be a little easier to read than the tall skinny format of current paperbacks.
As for the problem of losing my place, I still have lots of bookmarks, some of which were custom designed by my wife. Bookmarks are actually one of the things that I miss about DTBs. I used to collect those like matchbooks.

I hate not being able to change the font size and whenever I read a DTB I find myself trying to use the non-existent 5 way button to look up words in the dictionary. Needless to say I don't read very many DTBs anymore.

I think I've read one paper book since I got my Kindle, and although I loved the content of the book, I didn't enjoy the reading experience nearly as much. I just "finished" the In Death series on my Kindle and I think there are two books in that series that aren't available in Kindle. Although I'm curious as to what happened in those two books, I don't care enough to go to the library and pick up a copy. If they ever come out on Kindle, I'll read them...if not, so be it.

I haven't read a paper book since I got my first Kindle in November '08. This last July 4th a friend gave me a brand new hardcopy of a book I want to read, in a series I love (Stephanie Plum). Since July the book has been staring me in the face as I read numerous other books on my Kindle. I can't justify buying the book for my K, I'm too frugal (okay, CHEAP) to spend the $12.99 when the hardcover is RIGHT THERE. Yet I can't tear myself away from my Kindle long enough to read that one book. What's a girl to do?!

I like reading in bed on my back or my side. This is a lot easier to do with a Kindle on a stand. My current experience reading a paperback is not at all comfortable. And the squished, justified margins of the page aren't a picnic, either (and I frequently read my Kindle on the second smallest font size sans glasses).

I had a stack of paperbacks when I got my Kindle and my plan was to read the paperbacks in the bathroom and bedroom. I have to force myself to read the paperbacks. I was surprised that I prefer reading on the Kindle.
This morning I was chatting with a friend and mentioned a book I was reading. "How did you get that book here?" "It's on my Kindle. Downloaded it." "Oh."
