I've been a lurker for a month or so, as I researched which e-book reader to get. Got my kindle the other day from BestBuy.

I was about to wonder the same thing...then I saw this thread:

Seems like some ppl were saying the bands will discolor your white kindle...other ppl had no problems.  

EDIT:  And it looks like the price has been raised.  Now it would be $18 with shipping...still an ok deal
