I want to give one to my son but he's recently told me he's worried he'll (1) be too rough and break it; (2) spend too much money buying books; (3) spend too much time reading when he should be doing his school work (4) doesn't read enough to warrant having a Kindle (he is constantly reading). With all these rather lame excuses on why he shouldn't have one, I don't think I'm going to bother.

I want to give one to my hubby. He's started reading again, recently and I think he'd really enjoy it. Amazon is, very kindly, letting me hang on to my defective Kindle 'til mid-January in the hopes that I can get him to try it. Meanwhile, they sent me a replacement Kindle and it was on my doorstep in less than 24 hours. Yes, I will sing Amazon's praises to anyone who will listen

If there's a sale I might get my son a K3. . . .he's currently using my original K1. . . .but mostly he wants money for his trip to Ireland in the spring so, maybe not.

I gave one to my mom for her birthday and my brother last Christmas. I might just give myself the K3 this year. Really waiting on a waterproof case like the guardian before I upgrade.

Not exactly a Christmas present since we don't celebrate religious holidays, but my SO has expressed interest and will be receiving one for New Year's.

I'm giving my KK to my sister for Christmas. I even bought her a new cover, the skin from decalgirl that she wanted and a new usb cable (since the original one was misplaced in the move). I have even set up an Amazon.com account for her and registered it to her.

I want to get one for my father in law because he reads and travels a lot but I'm worried he wont appreciate it. He said he would get an e-reader when they were in color and didn't require a reading light.... kinda missing the point.... I really wanted to get one for my grandmother but she's part of a social circle that passes books around and you lose that ability as a kindle owner.... So it looks like (beyond here) I'll continue to be the only person I know with a kindle? They're so lovely, I just want to share the joy!!!!!

I'll give one to my mom as soon as they make it so you can check out library ebooks with a Kindle. I don't know how it is across the country (or globe), but right now it's the Sony Readers that can read our county's library books (epub format, I guess). I hope Kindle ebooks are coming!

I'm considering one for my husband. He currently uses his iPad but often comments on mine and lately has been talking about getting one.

My wife used my Amazon account to place an order today. So, I got the order confirmation. Yes, I am getting a Kindle for Christmas. I am not much of a gadget freak, but this is something I have been wanting for a while now. Maybe after she sees how cool it is, she'll want one too.

I wanted to give a Kindle as I think it is the best reader out there, BUT the people on my list only read from the library or buy used books. So I got them a couple of slightly used Sonys here on KB/Buy, Sell, Trade and got them signed up for Overdrive at the Library. Now I have to teach them how to download eBooks from the computer to the reader. Sure wish they were getting Kindles.

My brother and I may get one for our Mom. She reads constantly and travels a lot. She also buys most of her books at airports. In addition to the ease of being able to travel with more books on one device, I'm sure the Kindle store will save her money on buying books.
