Okay, so yesterday I noticed a small spot on the screen of my Kindle. No matter what I did (rubbed and lightly scratched at it, changed the pages), it wouldn't go away. So I called Amazon CS, and they sent me a new one. I got it about an hour ago and plugged it in. I downloaded all my books onto it, and then I noticed that the font is less bold on the new one when compared to my old one (same font and everything). Also, the new one has the "clay" buttons and I just noticed that the right arrow on the directional pad is fading. I don't mind that much if the arrows fade, but for them to fade basically right out of the box is kind of irritating and makes me wonder about the rest of the keys.

So my question is: what do you all think I should do?

Should I just suck it up and return my old one? Or should I keep my old one since the buttons aren't faded, the font is darker and the spot is tiny? I wouldn't have even bothered getting a new one, but CS said there was a chance the spot would get worse. But it's so small, so maybe nothing will happen? Or should I just ask CS to send out a new one? I hate to do that, though. *sigh* It's times like this I wish Amazon had a physical store I could go to.

If you're not satisfied, I'd call and nicely explain the situation and ask for a replacement. Let them know you really hate to, but you do want a nice Kindle since you love it so much.

Remember, these CS reps talk to HUNDREDS of people DAILY. They won't remember your call three minutes after you talk. Plus, they send out replacements all the time. Don't be concerned about asking for a replacement. They'll gladly do it since the product is essentially defective. I'm just saying, you're probably thinking about it more than they ever will. Smiley

Okay, so I just called and asked for them to send a new one out and take the one I got today. Thanks for the encouragement! I hate returning things, so I think I just needed a bit of a pep talk.
Hopefully the new Kindle is perfect, so I don't have to return any more Kindles!
