On several occasions now, my cat cat has managed to land on top of my K3 in all of her 10-lb (4.5-kg) glory. In her most recent (and hopefully playfully-meant) attack on the device, her claws actually came down onto the screen when I tried to lift her off.

I am happy to report that the K3 is still working completely fine, and the screen is still scratch-free.

With all of the reports of cracks and damage, it's nice to see a display of durability from a Kindle.

Oh, I'm so glad.  For a second I was holding my breath.  Cheesy

I wouldn't trust my cat as far as I can see him when it comes to devices like this.  Even with the Amazon leather cover, I try to keep my Kindle stored in a drawer when not using it anytime soon.

Btw, I'm in Ann Arbor too!  Nice to see a local by chance.

Hurray! I have yet to see anyone else around here using one, so it's nice to know I have company Smiley

I have this deep-seated need to multitask, so I tend to knit while I read. My cat decided to take advantage while my hands were otherwise engaged. Tsk.

Yeah, I know, right?  You'd think Book City USA would be full of Kindle users.  I partially blame Borders for being slow to the e-reader game.

Probably. I do see lots of DTB out, be it on the bus or at coffee shops, so at least people are still reading Smiley

Hey I'm in Ann Arbor too and have yet to see a Kindle in the wild.  Several Nooks though.
