That's a great article on maximizing use of Kindle Nation Daily sponsorships. He's absolutely right that it's got to be part of a larger strategy.

Having done sponsorships twice and coming up on my third, it is absolutely the best value for authors trying to find ways to increase their readership. I'd recommend it to anyone who's serious about marketing their books.

Thanks, Steve!

One of the things my wife did after I released SPIRAL X was take over the marketing aspect of getting the book out there to reviewers and formulating a plan on how and when to advertise. I think a lot of newbie indie authors tend to think that getting the book out there is the final step in the overall process, but this is pretty far from being true. Sales don't generate themselves, after all. The key is the order in which you set things to be accomplished. You can advertise all you want, but ask anyone if they would buy something with no or minimal reviews, and the standard answer is probably a resounding, "No." So there has to be a plan in place in order to effectively market your book and generate sales. As most people are apt to say, it's a marathon, not a sprint. We're authors, so long term vision isn't necessarily anathema to us, but it helps to understand that this process holds true for a lot longer than the scope of simply writing the novel.

Great article.  I've had good results with KND sponsorships, and I think it should be part of any indie author's promotional strategy.

My next one will (hopefully) be scheduled in early March, 1.5 months into the 2-month blog tour supporting my next book, (The Haunted E-book).  That way there will be several reviews already as a result of the tour, plus other promotional efforts underway.  One good thing about buying early is that you can pay today's price and get the larger audience that Stephen will have months from now, since his audience is always growing.

Great, I hope it helps, and also the larger point that it's basically your friends who make the difference. Celebrate them.
