I keep seeing reference to 'International Edition' Kindle 3s.
Are there differences between K3s sold in the U.S. and K3s elsewhere?

I am planning on being in the U.S. in January and don't need any surprises if I were to purchase a K3 while I'm down there. I reside in Canada.

Thanks.

All of the K3s are international.

K1s were US only.

K2s were US only initially, and then international K2s were released several months later.

On the K3 software upgrade page, Amazon distinguishes between the US & Canadian version - serial # begins with B006 and the European K3 - serial # begins with B00A (for the 3G models). If they require different updates, there must be a difference in the software on the devices, if not the actual devices themselves. I suspect it has something to do with which 3G networks they use since there is only one universal update for the wi-fi only K3.

But since Zipper 104 is from Canada and wants to purchase in the US, it should be OK even if it's the 3G model.  Grin
