Hello,
I just received a Kindle for Christmas and was really enjoying it until today when I turned it on and was unable to select anything.  The arrows on the 5-way button work fine but when I try to select an item by using the middle button, it won't work.  Cry  Is it physically broken?

Thanks for any help or advice.   Smiley

Have you tried re-setting the device? Hold the slider switch to the right for 15-40+ seconds until the Kindle reboots.

Thanks for the quick response.  Yes, I actually reset it twice but no change to the button issue.

vopro, your best move then is to contact Kindle customer service (www.amazon.com/kindlesupport) . . .use the call me back feature.  They'll probably send a replacement straight away and you can return the broken one after you get it.

I figured that was probably the case but thought I'd see if there was some trick I was missing.  Thanks for the replies.  Smiley

I've never heard of this issue before.  So, I suspect it is hardware's fault.  Amazon CS is great.  They will take care of you.
