I have a k1 and k3. I share my account with my sister since we read all the same books but I find it frustrating that if she has read the book first sync to the furthest page read goes to the end. Is there a way to reset this so that I can sync to where I've read and not the end of the book?  I know I can book mark but sometimes I run out the door with the other kindle and forgot to send a book mark and spend forever looking for my page.

thanks

I'm pretty sure there's no way to do it yourself, but I've read here that Kindle CS can do it for you.

Thanks,  I guess for the really long books I'll give them a call. I'm sure they would get tired of me if I kept calling Wink

Theresa. . . .if the two of you regularly read the same books, you may want to turn 'syncing' off. . . .that way you won't have the problem.  When you first open a books she's read through, you'll have to go back to the beginning, but then, with no syncing, it won't ever reset itself to the end.  Of course, if sync is off, you won't be able to sync between two of your own devices either.  It's an 'all or nothing' thing. Undecided

But I agree with Heather. . . .contact Kindle Support and ask them to reset it. . .the more people do this the more likely they are to make it a user option in a future software update. . . or make 'syncing' more selectable. . . .Roll Eyes

Wouldn't using "Bookmarks" also be a work around?

Yep, with two people it's generally best to just turn the synching off.  Though as Ann said, the draw back is if you're reading on multiple devices yourself.

In that case just rely on bookmarks and try not to read the same books at the same time so you can leave the sync on with minimal frustrations.

I've always been a fan of getting a "Sync to X" where X is the name of another Kindle on the account. So if my wife and I were reading the same book on our Kindles and I wanted to switch over to the computer for something I could say "Sync With" and pic my Kindle and it would go to that page as opposed to whoever was furthest in.
