A few days after I received my Kindle at Christmas, I found two "samples" listed in my books: The Autobiography of Mark Twain (the new one) and Henry James' The Turn of the Screw.
Kinda bizarre. Don't know how they got there, and I certainly hadn't loaded enough OTHER books on it to give an indication that this was what I liked to read. (Which it isn't anyway)

I've never had that happen on any of my Kindles in almost three years of using them.

Same here, and I have never heard of Amazon "pushing" samples to people.

I'm not saying they were pushing it, but the samples appeared without my asking for it. Strange glitch?

Somebody else have a Kindle on your account and sent the samples to the wrong unit?

I've run out of ideas. Yes, very strange glitch, I guess.

I'm guessing you accidentally sent them to yourself. Or someone else did -- maybe someone to whom you had handled your Kindle so they could check it out. But, however it happened, if you don't want 'em it's easy to delete them.

I would be concerned about a security breech. I'd contact amazon. It might be symptom of a bigger problem.
