And how many of you read your Kindle e-books on a smart phone like an iPhone and/or on your desktop computer on a regular basis?

I don't want to carry my Kindle around with me so I've got it on my iPhone and can read any of the books in my collection anywhere with the iPhone Kindle app that I have.

K3 (mine)
K1 (gave to girlfriend)
My office desktop
My girlfriend's iPad
My girlfriend's laptop

I may eventually get an iPhone now that it's going to Verizon, and I'd add that.  Like you I don't carry my Kindle around unless I'm going out of town, so it would be nice to be able to read on a phone I always have with me when I get stuck in a waiting room etc.

We have three Kindles registered to one account, plus Kindle for iPhone and Kindle for Mac.

I'll read on my iPhone if I'm out...waiting in line or waiting for someone. I don't use the Kindle for Mac very often because I don't like reading on the computer any more than necessary. But it has come in handy on a few occasions when I have lots of notes I want to add to a particular book. It's much faster for me to type it on the computer vs. the Kindle keyboard.

I have my Kindle, my HTC Aria (an Android phone), my old iPhone (which I use as an iPod Touch now), and the family MacBook. I need to get Kindle for PC on my netbook, now that I think about it...

The only thing that sucks for me is that a lot of the time the wireless on my (3G) Kindle is off, and I don't often have a WiFi network to connect my iPhone to while reading, so if I go back and forth between devices, my books may not be synced quite right.

For me:
  • K3 WiFi
  • KDX
  • Laptop
  • iPhone

For my wife:
  • K2
  • Laptop
  • iPhone

For my youngest son:
  • K3 3G
  • laptop

I use my iPhone at work during breaks and when I have short waiting periods at various places.  My wife got me the K3 for Christmas so I could take it to doctor's appointments, on vacations, etc.

K3
iPod Touch
PC
Android

I like the convenience of being able to read anywhere without having to worry about having to carry the Kindle with me. If I find myself with some free time waiting in line or something I can knock out a chapter here and there.

Three: a K2, a K3 and my DroidX phone, which I rarely read on because I almost always have one of my Kindles with me and I MUCH prefer the larger e-ink screen to the smaller backlit phone screen.

1 US Kindle 2
1 International Kindle DX
1 Kindle 3 Graphite
1 iPad
1 iPod Touch
1 Droid
1 Blackberry

I never thought I'd enjoy reading on the Touch but was in a doctors waiting room not long ago and read on it for over an hour. It was great.

K1- Old friend.
K3- Brand spanking new and don't want to take it out of the house yet!
PC- netbook- don't do  much reading on the netbook.
PC- laptop- don't do much reading on the laptop.
Droid X- I read when out and about. I have my screen black and words white and I don't get much eye strain that way.

Me
Kindle 2
Kindle for PC
Kindle3 (Shipped today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

My Husband
Kindle 2
Kindle for PC

I know we could have put our Kindles on the same account but we chose to each have our own.

I recently was able to play with my sisters new IPhone and fell in love. If I lived where I could get a cell signal I would so get one and get Kindle for IPhone but I cannot justify the monthly charges since I could only use it about once a week while "in town".

3 Kindles:  mine, my brother's, and my aunt's

Kidnle App on my DROID.

K4PC on my main computer here.

The Android app is for emergencies, though I'm almost never without my Kindle.  The one on my computer is just there because it can be.  Roll Eyes

About the only time I use Kindle for PC is when I want to see a picture or chart larger than I can see it on the Kindle

SueEllen,

You could always get an iPod touch to use the Kindle app.  Woot has a refurb 8GB one for $189 today (1/13/11)

I think 8 would be enough if that was all you were using it for.
