I'd estimate four to eight on average, depending on the length of the books.

That's a lot, for me.  I'm curious who will have the most/month.

1-3 generally.  Depending on length of book and how much I'm reading.  I seldom read more than just 30-60 minutes a night before sleep.  Sometimes skip that if I'm tired/working late.  But if I really get sucked in I'll do some more reading in the evening and weekends.  But I'm more into movies, sports, TV and video games, so those hobbies get more of my free time.

I'd read more if I wasn't a professor and already doing so much reading for work! Cheesy

My goal is to read one book per week (generally non-fiction), plus I'm usually reading a fiction book at the same time.  So far this month I've finished three books and I'm 3/4 of the way through number four.

I've always considered myself a slow reader, but usually 2-4 books a month on average.

Based on last year's total, around 12 books on average. Fewer if I'm busy, more if I'm on vacation.

It isn't just your reading speed that affects the number of books you read, but also the amount of time you can spare to read. I'm a fairly fast reader, but I'm lucky if I get time for more than two or three books a month.  Sad

Over the course of the year that I participated in the threads in Book Corner keeping track, I read 308. not quite a book a day, and I'm 99% sure tehre were numerous people who did read a book a day.
This year, since Jan 1. I have:
Finished Powerless Book 1 (started before new year.)
read:
Powerless books 2 & 3
Pound of Flash
The Kinshield Legacy
Steam Powered
Unwrapped
The Perfect Dish
Erich's Plea
Ursula's Quest
Spiderwork (twice) Pre revision and post revision

so again, I am not quite at a book a day.

In 2009 I averaged at 15 a month, in 2010 it was 12 a month. I am trying about the same for 2011. I am a bit behind already because of eye issues and I have to read without lenses or glasses right now. I have to use reading glasses and they aren't strong enough for long reading. On Book 5 for this year.

But I find a way and I turned the type up, love that about the Kindle. If I didn't have it, I couldn't read at all right now.

My goal is 12 per month, but I've been averaging 7 - 8 for the last couple of years. I need to stop spending so much time online.  Embarrassed

I read anywhere from 10 - 20 a month.  I'm at 10 already this month, but I went on something of a book binge.  I also have 2 I gave up on partway through, but those aren't counted.  I was keeping track on the book count thread, but now I just track in GoodReads.

I've just been so used to reading 1 book at a time. I think I can do 2 a month.

I'm currently reading book number 8 for the month of January.  My goal is to read at least 100 books in 2011.  But I'm retired, and I don't watch much TV.

Average of 1-3 per month. I think one month I read 5.

But seeing that prior to having a Kindle, I averaged 3-5 per year.

Given that I've been sort of house bound for the last few months, I've been averaging about 15/month in the last 4 months.  Some of the novels were fairly short.  Been reading a lot of Indie authors lately.
