I like fiction authors. But feel lonely as a nonfiction author.  Where are nonfiction authors? Is there a separate board or they are just buried under the fiction author majority? Shocked LOL.

If there's a separate nonfiction board out in the great beyond, I haven't heard of it. There are a few of us here, though. Don't be lonely!  I'm here with you! Grin

We're here!  Grin There have been a few other threads specific to nonfiction. I'm an established nonfiction writer eager to cross the aisle and expand (not trade!) my work into the fiction world.

I understand your dilemma.

But I have noticed a few here and there on these boards.

I am one of them.

I'm a novelist but my DH is a non-fiction writer.  ALWAYS ON SUNDAY is about his years working for Ed Sullivan.  If you like backstage gossip and celebs (Elvis & the Beatles included) you will love AOS.  His other non-fiction, THE ATOMIC TIMES, is about his year at the Pacific Proving Grounds in South Pacific during the US H-bomb tests.  Hilarious, raunchy, grisly, tragic, TAT has been compared to CATCH 22 and been praised by readers from Henry Kissinger to Robert Parker, author of the Spenser series.

I just made a thread about this a few days ago. Count me in as a non-fiction writer.

I do plan to publish some fiction, too!

I've written two nonfiction books.  One is published and one was roundly rejected.

Nonfiction by day, fiction by night.  Indie film on the weekends.  Smiley

I'm planning a non fictionbook - a guide to visual design.

After teaching for 20 years in film, i feel the content is waiting to get out -
its got to be original though, and it will be, with lots of illustrations.

I know what you mean though. Ive felt a bit lonely here
being interested in a visual book  rather than a novel. But that's ok.
Useful here all the same.

I'm also interested in children's books. The visual again.
Picture books. Not much text. Mind you i love good writing, and humor

cheers

The nonfiction sales twice as many, by the way!
Yes, the statistics show more sales for nonfiction as a whole. But there are always exceptions.

Thanks to all the fellow nonfiction authors for responding.  It was good to see some nonfiction titles for a change.

Sorry, I will not be able to reply each one because as I understand you can post only one reply per week or so to your own thread?  If not true, I will be glad to know.

One of the authors wrote that she has started a nonfiction thread, please post the link, if you see this message.

Let me get back to writing where I can make every life a little healthier and happier.  As always, wish you all the very best in 2011.

Yes, I'm here too. Some of my non-fiction is relevant (four handbooks for writers, the less technical graphic design books), the more technical typography books can go to Apple, but I was wondering what I would do with, for instance, an autobile engineering book.

That rule applies only to the promotion threads in the Book Bazaar.

Thanks, clickNextPage.  It is nice to know.  I did delete some replies when I thought of that.  OK "writer's cafe" and this thread is under book bazar but not a book promotional page. Thanks again.
