For years I had a portable DVD drive that I'd carry around wiht me where ever i went. I'm amazed at how long it lasted considering how many time it fell on the concret getting in and out of the car!  lol

I've just bought a Kindle this weekend. I don't think I'll be taking it back. I love this thing despite my previous reservations.  From previous experience I know there is a chance I will drop it. I don't want to take the risk of treating it like my hard drive.  Do you guys know of any cases that provide some protection from falls?  I did eventually buy a case for my hard drive when i realized that one was available. While it is not fool proof, I think my HD case will provide quite a bit of protection.

Currently, i refuse to take my kindle out of the house out of fear something will happen to it.

I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!

Well I found these two after calling Best Buy

http://www.amazon.com/KlearKase-Kindle-Transparent-Protective-Generation/dp/B00300570U/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1295892933&sr=8-4

http://www.amazon.com/M-Edge-Accessories-Guardian-Display-Generation/dp/B003QPQ1TK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=fiona-hardware&qid=1295892933&sr=8-2

The last one doesn't have many good Reviews because of lack of access. That's not really a problem for me though.

My Oberon cover has done a fine job of protecting my Kindle 3 through some mishaps, mainly me dropping it, or falling asleep reading and then it slides out of bed onto the floor.  Not foolproof, of course, but so far so good!  The leather is thick and of good quality, and really protects the edge of the device nicely, too.

Hi!  Just wanted to chime in concerning our Guardian Case.
1. It was only made for the Kindle 2, so if you just got your Kindle it will not fit properly.
2. It is not a ruggedized case.  It was designed to be waterproof and to provide a certain level of impact protection, but not to completely protect a Kindle against impact damage from a high or forceful fall.
3. It is not currently available.

That said, we design our Kindle jackets to provide stylish and functional protection.  We offer a lot of different styles/color/material choices.  You can check out all of our products most easily on our website, www.medgestore.com

And let us know if you have any questions or concerns!

Although I have a Noreve case for my Kindle, which protects quite well (although if I take it out & about, I put the K3 in its cover into a Vera Bradley case), I do have a M-Edge case for my iPad, which I love! I'd say it's very protective. M-Edge products are very high quality, and their customer service is excellent as well.
