A couple questions:

- Is there anyone here who's been using the unlighted Amazon cover on their Kindle 3 and NOT experienced any problems with it?

- Also, I'm wondering if any of the "quick fixes" people have used to help prevent their Kindle 3s from crashing (dryer sheet, plastic over the hinge hooks, filing or sanding down the hinge hooks, fingernail polish) have actually worked?

I have had my Cover for about 3 weeks and have had zero issues with it.  I am now knocking on wood.

I received my K3 and Amazon cover when they came out in August 2010.  I've had no problem with either other than, I can't see the K3 when I turn the lights out, I still find dryer sheets in the leg of my pants, my wife likes my hand-me-down K2 more than me.

Got my Amazon unlighted cover a week ago and no problems yet.  I keep expecting to pick it up and find it locked up, or battery drained, but it's all good so far.

Ah, I'm sure she likes you a little bit more.

Had the lock up problem. I sanded the hinges. No more problem except for 4 lockups when the Oxford dictionary updated. Removed the dictionary, no more lockups.

I've had mine since August and have never had a problem. I love the color (apple green) and the sleek, light feel of it.

I had problems with mine on a 3G model.  My wife has had no problems with hers on a WiFi model.  Doubt that the models make a difference, though.  The problems that I had were sporadic and infrequent, but CS replaced it anyway when I called them.

I've had the Amazon unlighted cover since early September when I got the K3. No problems at all.

I bought my amazon brand leather kindle case a few days after I got my kindle (three months ago) and I've never had a problem. Love it.

So far, no problem with mine either.  Christmas gift here, too.  K3 WiFi (no 3G)

Got my Apple Green cover in late November, along with the K3, and it worked fine until Kindle had to be recharged the first time, just before xmas when the K3 started freezing and rebooting. As I continued to use it, it started to reboot/freeze more often, and lost places in books. I put baggie corner on top hinge, and had no more problems until I finally replaced it with a Pink lighted cover.  I love the lighted cover, as I do most of my reading at night. Love that the light is there for whenever needed, day or night.
