My Kindle 3 has been lost in the mail  Sad, it was supposed to get here around the 20th and its still a no show. After calling the couriers, and my local mail service nothing was resolved, and finally Australia Post told me to contact Amazon about it. It is really frustrating that no one seemed to know what was going on with it, although the courier reps were very nice.
I contacted Amazon and they bricked it and sent me out a new one, so hopefully that one will be here next week  Smiley. When I was talking to the rep though no one mentioned that the new Kindle would be charged to my credit card and it looks like it was. Is it unreasonable for me to contact Amazon for a refund, or part refund? It feels really awkward to ask lol, neither of us have the thing and its no ones fault that it disappeared, but at the same time I wasn't expecting the charges. Now I feel cheap, but I'm really at a loss as what to do about it all. I am really hoping that the original one shows up so I can return it properly (or activate it again and return the replacement). Any advice would be really welcome  Smiley

you should not be charged for the new one unless they removed the charge/refunded for the first one.

My thought is that they will reverse the charge for the first one. It often takes a day for that to happen. So, give it another 24 hours and if the first charge isn't credited back to your account, contact Amazon.

I gave them a quick call and they are refunding the money back to the card. I was really very impressed at how quickly it was all sorted out, and that they didn't just tell me that there was nothing they could do about it. I have had that happen with other companies before and this issue was bit of a grey area in regards to what should be done. Every other package I have had go missing has been my own bad luck. So thank goodness for Amazons amazing customer service  Grin

Another kudos story for Amazon's customer service  Smiley

I haven't had any Kindle issues yet but it's good to know that if I do I have nothing to worry about.

I'm glad everything was sorted out and let us know when your Kindle arrives safely.

Congrates on your new kindle. This month, UPS had delivered my package from Amazon to the wrong house. Luckily, it was the house up the street & the person knew me. He ended up bringing me my package. I had thought that my package was a couple of days late because of the snowstorms slowing up deliveries.
