I'm not sure I understand your question. While there are certainly many more fiction authors, there are nearly 130,000 non-fiction titles in Kindle books. At Barnes & Noble, there are 47,000 non-fiction titles.

For some reason there is hardly any nonfiction author on kindle or BN.

My book is non-fiction. It's a memoir. The next one or two will probably be non-fiction, too. I already have plans on one specific book, but it will take a lot of primary source research.

I might write some fiction at some point, but I prefer non-fiction. Even when I do fiction it will probably be historical fiction.

I wonder whether there are more lurkers like me. I've written several nonfiction books through mainstream press, but have become fascinated with ebooks/epublishing. Currently working on a nonfiction book that I plan to epub shortly, however the KB seems to be mostly fiction writers, so I've only been lurking. This is my first post. Was glad to see this thread, because I've been wondering the same thing! Smiley

Ditto. The best reason that I have come across and learned something new is: the format and ereader software is not at a stage (yet) to format and read complex Tables and graphics. But it will be ready for nonfiction soon. Then it is hope the nonfiction ebooks will pick up. Please correct me if I have misunderstood.

I understand there are nonfiction books including mine, but much fewer than fiction.

My book Dark Horse: The Official Shadowfast Supercar Technical Reference is non-fiction, about a 'road-warrior' type car me and my dad built in the 1970s. I have four other books which are basically action/adventure works inspired by my time spent with the machine (I grew up in a place called 'Little Chicago', due to its lawlessness). There's tons of real life moments from my youth in the stories (though I do change names, dates, and other details for reasons of privacy and others).

Out of the seven books I currently have published, only two could be classified as out and out fiction: my science fiction series. And even that is kicked off (in the first volume) by some real events from my personal life.

(I could only fit six books in my signature below)
